Making knees looks nicer in a dress

I have bought a dress for my work Christmas party. I really like the dress but it is above the knee, which never used to be a problem but suddenly my knees are looking just a big saggy and not really nice.

I am pale so I will need to wear tights with the dress (nude not black) is there anything that lifts? Makes knees look better?

I am only 37 but looking at my knees in the mirror an hour ago, I felt about 90.

I'm not keen on my knees. Tbh they look about a million times better in black opaque tights. or failing that any colour of opaques. I like wearing a short skirt or dress sometimes but I'll only do it with opaques. Are you sure it has to be nude tights? What about a fine-knit/velvet opaque in a colour that works with the dress?

The other option is look and see if the dress can be taken down.

How tall are you? I clicked the link and now ads for other dresses are popping up. They have a tall version , depending on your build then it might come down long enough to cover your knees and make you feel more comfortable.

I'm 5'2". I looked at the tall version but the dress is below the knee on the model and she's 5'11". I have checked, they don't have an non-petite-non-tall version. :(

I'd wear black opaques with that without a second thought. Not sure why your think it wouldn't work

Oh I have the same problem and I'm in my 20s!
I think to be honest we should accept we can't make everything look perfect - and people should be able to look at our legs and know what real knees look like and same with, idk, hairy legs if that's your bag, or veins or dry patches. Not about to start contouring and highlighting

I agree with Lettuce. I think that dress would look fine with opaques. You might have to rethink shoes - depending on what you had in mind - but otherwise I can't see a problem.

Your knees tend to be one of the first things to go. I don't know of any remedy. It's why opaques are so popular.

I'd totally wear opaques with that dress (which is fab btw - don't give up on it!) There are different types of opaques, some are quite smooth and shiny, or very fine, they don't have to be thick and woolly. I even have some glittery ones that would work with this dress. Have a shop around.

Also, at a work / evening do when you are wearing a dress, I always think your legs are going to be very minimally on show anyway. You'll be mingling/sitting down to eat/standing around in groups. That dress will make the focus on your upper half and that's what people will notice. So most people won't even notice your tights.

Oh I am so thrilled you all think I can try tights! I am going to do it. I have searched for another dress this afternoon and haven't seen anything I like as much. I'll give the tight a whirl, although now have a show dilemma but I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Am I missing something? Would black opaques not be perfect with that dress? Surely they would look better than nude tights with it.

I had the same problem on Saturday night. Tried bare tanned legs and nude tights but my knees have sadly gone. Tried opaques, legs looked slimmer and I felt comfortable all night and not self-conscious at all.
