What's your favourite website for dresses?

I'm looking for something LOVELY for New Year's Eve....after spending the last five in by myself, I'll be on a cruise this year so I'm VERY excited! I'm looking for something that's really beautiful, but maybe a bit unusual/quirky? I don't really want to go for the classic LBD (although I'm not ruling out black). I think the dress code will be dressy, but not ball gowns, iykwim? I'm 5'2", long blonde hair, size 14, fairly curvy, (won't do much more than 2incjes above the knee though as I hate my legs!) and I suppose my budget would be up to about £100.....(though I'd prefer less!) Anybody know of any websites to inspire me? Thank you!

NotTodaySatan Ooh that's lovely! I bought this pink leopard number as I've been waiting for it to come out ever since I spotted it in the A/W lookbook! I think I'm going to wear it to see Garbage next month! :)

NotToday It's turning up tomorrow! I can't wait! I love the one that you got as well - it looks really elegant!

I may have a BIT of a Collectif problem but their clothes are just so nicely cut (for me anyway!) and look amazing!

Found a dress on the Collectif website....yay! Every time I try to order it it says "order failed"....boo Sad Have emailed them but no response yet....have put my credit card details in twice already, don't really want to do it again. Hope it works out ok though, it's a really pretty dress (and earrings Wink)

Ooh that's really odd Two. Their website usually works like a dream.

Which dress is it?

There's a site called topvintage.net which stocks all Collectif's stuff. I think they're in Holland but they deliver within 2-3 days. Could be worth trying them if you can't get Collectif's site to work?

I hate Mumsnet on my phone! Just typed a long reply and it's disappeared! Anyway.....it's a red wiggle dress called 'Mel'.....I'll try to get a picture. It's lovely, and I got some deco-style diamond-look earrings too......if my order ever gets processed! Wah! I'm thinking my trusty nude patent heels and sparkly bag......opinions, please? Smile

That's lovely! It's the red version of the pink leopard dress that I posted further up the thread so a nice mix of that and the one that NotTodaySatan got! Best of both worlds! Grin

The Collectif site can be extremely a bit temperamental round about sale time so it is prone to some wobbles at times. It always rights itself in the end though so I expect your order will go through soon if it hasn't already! They're super quick delivery wise so it should be with you by the end of the week.

And a definite yes to nude heels and a sparkly bag! You're going to look cracking!

Good choice. There are quite a few online retailers but when you order from Collectif you normally get a cute bag and compact mirror free!

Aww, thank you! I'm really looking forward to it arriving....I expected to get something a little bit more 'quirky' really, but I just really loved it....and I'm hoping with the accessories I can quirk it up a bit! I've recently lost 10lbs (and still going) so I'm hoping I'll look alright Grin Going to go online in a bit and see if there's any updates....

My dress has just arrived (see what I mean about them being pretty quick!) and is LOVELY. The fit is a bit weird though as it gapes a bit around my shoulders and top. I don't know whether to get it adjusted or send it back and try to squeeze into the next size down.

It looks fab Mme - I'd probably get the shoulders nipped in a wee bit.

Mine arrived too!

It arrived ?? I phoned them and they did a manual order for me and it arrived the next day! It's lovely, but I've got the same problem around the shoulder area.....I'm going to unpick the straps where they attach at the back of the dress and hoist them in an inch or so then it'll be perfect Smile
