I'm looking for some dungarees for wearing while on the allotment. I found these and they look perfect Carrier Company but they're soooo expensive. I don't want denim. Not too fussy on colour but they need to be made from a good quality cotton. I'm guessing I'm on a wild goose hunt here but thought it'd be worth asking!

I'd wear something old you already have as it will get dirty and damaged on an allotment. You don't need to buy new clothes for gardening!

Also, dungarees will be very annoying to have to get out of when you need to pee and have muddy hands. And it's freezing.

I find denim really good for gardening , it's thick and stuff can't get through it, if you don't want to spend loads it's perfect. Thick cotton is expensive, workwear like dickies overalls is a good example

Thanks for all the replies. I wore my denim dungarees the other day and I found them so comfortable to work in, if a little stiff. I have visions of myself as Monty Don in some lovely, good quality gardening clothes that have been worn forever and gone super soft. Ideally I'd like something second hand but can only find denim ones on ebay... might be worth thinking about, but I'd really like a khaki cotton fabric. The dickies ones could be good but are polycotton, unfortunately.

Try Arco or Tool Station for proper workwear ?

Decorators overalls? There are workwear catalogues you can get with all that sort of stuff.
