I pay ??30 for mine. Gels at the same salon are ??40. Prefer shellac for price and doesn't damage my nails as much.

The ?? is a pound sign

Thank you. I'm not bothered about gels I don't think, cba with upkeep. Just fancy having my nails done 'properly' for a change instead of farting around doing it myself.

The pound signs come up funny when I type them on my phone too!

Also, get about 2-3 weeks wear out of shellac without chipping and when it starts to grow out, I just paint over with normal polish until I go back to the salon again for removal or re-doing

I'm SE. Everything's fucking expensive Sad

Oh! It took me that long to type, I didn't see your reply gold!

I'll look up some local salons to ring around over the next couple of days.

You don't have to go back for them removed, do you? I could diy soaking them in acetone to take off?

On groupon ??9/10, mobile is ??12/15, salon is ??15/35, depending on how nice it is and how much of a manicure they do. Sometimes it's more of a file and paint.

??15-20 in the North East.

I remove with acetone and foil.

I DIY with acetone and foil, but never do it as well as the pros and find I do damage which has to grow out. Suspect I'm always rushing it.

My place remove for free. Just have to be bothered to go!

Nothing but my friend / nail technician charges ??15 for gels, for which Shellac is a brand name. Easily removed at home with foil and acetone

Mine are 18 pounds and 8 to remove. Looked amazing and lasted well

Report
lucysmam · 09/09/2015 22:16

I did not know that, lanbro, I thought gels involved tips? & layers?

Maybe I'm thinking acrylic?

15-20 quid here in the NW
They usually don't charge for taking it off, I usually just get another colour put straight on though.
I wouldn't recommend taking it off yourself, you can really damage the nail if you don't know what you're doing

If you want tips, you want extensions with a shellac finish I think?

I am North East and pay ??24 for extensions with gel, or ??18 for Infils.

??25 for shellac / gellish which includes removal . Last 3 weeks perfectly .

??20 West London. Last until they are so grown out it's silly.

And then you can get them removed (Free if then having a manicure at my salon) Or you can just peel them off yourself whilst watching tv

??25 inc removal of previous shellac and proper mani. Same if no removal. West London.

A salon near me charges ??54 for a full gel manicure and ??15 for removal.

I go there for other stuff, but go to a different salon (incidentally of same chain) for nails, where it's "only" ??35 and ??8 removal.

Wish I knew a good home nail technician!
