This isn't a work dress is it?

Not where I work anyway. I was thinking of wearing it to a wedding with pink shoes. But they've put me off by calling it a work dress!

I think it would be v overdressed for most work scenarios!

Depends where you work

Really lovely dress - perfect with pink shoes for a wedding.
Ignore 'them', they know nothing.

It is lovely isn't it? And I would get lots of Hmm looks if I wore it here, wearing a skirt is considered smart!

With these shoes?

I recently bought a very similar midi dress from Ted Baker for a wedding. It's a lovely dress, very flattering on, but personally I would feel over dressed in work wearing it. A glam night out, Christmas party type thing or Christening, but a tad ott for work I think.

Thanks Coconut - if you've got similar then you will know what the material is like too which you can't tell from the picture. Maybe work-wear if it was a jersey dress but it isn't.

sorry but I hate the shoes

Nice frock Grin.

But it's a bit once-seen-never-forgotten, so wouldn't be my choice for work.

I'd prefer something plainer in design that could be changed with accessories/cardigans/jackets.

S'ok Doris, I'm not convinced either. Need to try them on together Smile

I have workmates who would wear stuff like that, but they are glam I hate them and could so pull it off. Our workplace is rather scattershot in terms of fashion.

I think it's definitely a wedding dress!

Definitely a wedding guest dress, but I'd wear it again for work afterwards. Loads of people do that in our office - if you've spent ??? on something then you want to get as much use out of it as possible. For work I'd dress it down with black shoes and probably a black cardi (freezing in our office!), but with pink shoes it would be fab. You'll look amazing!

I really like that dress too! I don't have any weddings this year - is it too early to buy a dress for the Christmas night out Grin

Gorgeous dress.
I have some quite full on work dresses for smart events but I definitely wouldn't call that a work dress - perfect for a wedding!

Are you tall and you only like shoes with a low heel?
Just wondering really.

It's never too early Lucked you should get a bargain at this time of year!

I would wear it to work and have worn similar Grin City law firm. A lot of rather glamorous women in my office both on the attorney and the staff side and so it would not have been out of place. You can always throw a jacket over it. But pink shoes might cross the line somewhat.

To get the most of my wardrobe, I try not to buy items which I can only wear for weddings and special occasions. If I can also wear it to work (at a stretch), then I will be able to get a lot more use out of it and the price per wear comes right down.

I'd wear that when working on the booth at a conference, or in a client site meeting when I want people to pick me out in their mind. But not in an everyday office situation.

Those Asos gold stiletto heels would look amazing with that dress!

Hells I'm actually really short but I can't wear heels due to a foot injury. Shame, those ones you have linked to look gorgeous but I'd be flat on my face in seconds!

It'd be nice for a wedding.

It's polyester though. For that money. Shock

Defo no to those shoes. They're frumpy and not at all stylish.
