Are Christian Louboutins worth the money?

I have been given some cash for a birthday present, and I've always wanted a pair of Louboutins, my question is are they really worth it? I never splash out on anything so think they may not be all I want them to be!

I've got my eye on so Kate's if that helps

I have a pair of Pigalle 100s. They are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are lovely to look and and very well made but I want to cry by the end of the evening.

I find Jimmy Choo and Gucci a lot more comfortable.

Have you got really lovely feet? Because my friend has a pair and they make her quite nice feet look not so nice. They are her pride and joy and they make her happy but they do not look great. They make her feet look a little swollen. And I am not being horrid by the way. I have hideous feet and my friend has much much nicer feet but they just don't seem to flatter her.

DH bought me a pair a few years ago. Admittedly my feet are on the wide side but they were unbelievably narrow. I was like one of Cinderella's ugly sisters trying to squeeze my foot in. I wore them round the house for half an hour and sent them back.

They look great off but are notoriously uncomfortable. Manolos are the comfiest heels ever, I wore them for my wedding, and Jimmy Choo are better, too.

No, they are the most uncomfortable shoes ever.

Valentino or Aquazurra much more comfortable. Also I do think Louboutins have suffered a bit as a brand with the whole stripper heel thing.

I love mine! They can be a little uncomfortable, I don't find it too bad though.
I have some Guiseppe Zanottis which are by far my most comfortable pair.
Manolos are also really comfy as per PP.

Another vote for Jimmy Choo. I too have wide feet. I bought a pair of classic nude heels for my hen do and then wedding. I had to do a walk on both occasions and they were amazingly comfortable. I've worn them many times since. I went to the shop in Selfridges. The staff were really nice and very helpful.

I did try to try on some Louboutins. The ones I tried were very narrow and I found the shop staff quite standoffish.

Also, the red lacquer obviously picks up every mark and make them look gross if you wear them a lot, you can get them re-done though.

I have normal feet, I guess size 7 not overly wide, not the narrowist I guess

I shall have a re think and maybe go for some jimmy choo's instead

They do look so lovely that's the problem

There are many many many lovely shoes out there. I'd go to somewhere like selfridges or harrods and try a couple of pairs on in each of the high end brands - you'll soon see which ones look good on you and you can comfortably walk in.

Have fun!

You need petite feet imo

I had some for my wedding but prefer Rossi and Marant these days.

Don't have loubtains - but tried them several times and always end up getting a different brand - agree others are much comfortable - have balenciaga and choo shoes I have found much more tolerable.
Agree too the red soles are maybe a bit dubious now

The only expensive shoes I have are Manolos, and they're surprisingly comfortable (for heels)

Oh and I have size 7 1/2 wide-ish feet

I've just sold my Pigalles. They made me cry, and then I thought about how much they cost and I cried some more. The toe box just wasn't wide enough for me and as they were patent they wouldn't stretch much. Sad

Isn't there an urban myth(?) that Vicky B had surgery I her feet i.e. her toes broken and reset (sorry to be brutal) so as she could even wear the flipping things??

I think a day out in London is called for so I can try on different brands and styles, seems to be that they look fab but are not comfy, and would end up sat in the wardrobe in their box!

Oooh post a link to the ones OP?

I'm at that age where I've abandoned all hope of wearing lovely shoes and have to get my pleasure living through others' beautifully dressed feet.

I am a five- I LOVE my 2 pairs. Before I bought the first pair I did a whole day of trying different brands, inc Choo Manolo etc and Louboutin was head and shoulders above the others
