www.marksandspencer.com/front-zip-herringbone-jacket-with-wool/p/p22319142#bvHeader

I know it says it's out of stock but my local store are holding it till tomorrow for me - currently 30% off

I'm 50 and a size 14/16 5'4"

Looking for something that could work as smart or casual, mainly to wear with trousers, jeans or leggings

If you all hate it - any alternatives for under £60?

Thanks

I'm sorry, I don't like that.

Tesco have some surprisingly lovely coats in at the moment.

I was going to say I didnt like it but then I looked at the other m and s coats online and loads of them look bad so I think they photograph them badly so it might be worth trying it on. Otherwise I was going to second the tesco suggestion, but they are advertising a borg lined jacket so i woukd worry about being assimilated if I tried it on!

I would add bulk so I think you could get something nice.. Also nicer print

it's hideous and will make you look older/frumpy, i suspect

this is nice and classy (and is a bit less £s)

this and this has a nice cut to it IMHO, I have a similar one and always get compliments

classy and understated

i've noticed that a lot of the ones on the M&S site are okay but not "quite" right IRL.. examples: this is a lovely colour but just looks dated if you're over 20! or this is lovely, a gorgeous colour, but cut too long, esp. for someone your height.

of all the M&S ones, www.marksandspencer.com/buttonsafe-cross-collar-textured-coat-with-wool/p/p22322075 might be the most flattering I've spotted, and again, it's within your budget.

I dont like it..even on the model. It looks really bulky and i dislike the fur collar and tweed together. I think you could do bette tbh...but if you like it, then buy it. I know i have a lovely pair of boots that noone likes on here..but i love them so to hell!!!

1981 some lovely ideas - I think I like the navy jasper Conran one best so far - I have a similar one in black bought from warehouse a few years back and now looking rather worn - hence my search for a replacement

The beige M n S one would be great but I need something darker

I popped down to Tesco this afternoon and some nice stuff but only in v small or v large sizes and lots are out of stock on their website too sadly

The main reason I was trying to find something in M n S is I have a £35 credit voucher to spend - but am sure can use it up on something else if needed (wine even!!)

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions - I definitely don't want to look frumpy - lost a bit of weight recently though still a way to go, and am told I look much younger than I am

In that case congrats! There's bound to be something in M&S which suits (just not the original one, please Grin you're better than that!)

It looks like it's been borrowed from your grandad.

I like it, but I think it's very casual, rather than an all occasions one.
