I am trying to work out whether to charity shop this skirt now that my legs have seen better days. Is it okay or do I need to get rid of it.

Yep, keep. There's nothing wrong with your legs either!

Thank you. DH (not usually conservative) doesn't think I can wear short skirts anymore now I'm over the hill. Hmm

Looks OK to me too

Def keep. You have lovely toned legs. They're meant to be the last thing to "go". Which means your mini skirt will be a wardrobe staple forever.

Your dh is being ridiculous, you have great legs!

How old are you? I'm 44 and frequently wear skirts as short as that.

Bunbaker · 26/11/2014 20:24

Sorry, but brown shoes with black tights don't look good together IMO.

Report
AMinorBird · 26/11/2014 20:27

I am 40.

The tights are navy if that helps.

It looks too short to me tbh. It looks like it would ride up a bit when you sit. Its not an age thing.

Nothing wrong with your legs! Don't like the shoes myself.

Love it!

Can you tell us where you got the skirt from?

Try sitting on a chair in front of a full length mirror. That should tell you either way.

The skirt is from H&M Weegie but a few years old.

Have taken it off now but will give it the sitting down test tomorrow Burnished.

bonzo the legs might be the last thing to go on your average apple shape but let me assure you they're the first thing to go if you're pear. Mine haven't been fit for viewing above the knee since my mid 20s!

OP you can get away with it however, ignore your DH if you feel comfortable. You have zero skin on display, I don't see the issue. It's not like you're in danger of flashing someone while wearing opaques...

WeegieScum · 26/11/2014 22:36

Thanks AMinorBird. I'm on the lookout for an almost identical outfit to that but I can't find a skirt. Definitely don't listen to your DH you look fab!

Report
AMinorBird · 26/11/2014 22:47

I think that there may be a similar skirt in Jack Wills in navy if that helps.

Christ, I'm 41 and wear shorter skirts than that all the time. Admittedly my skin tone isn't what it was so I do tend to wear them less in summer but with opaque tights what on earth is the problem?

You look lovely, OP.

Like it. Definitely not too short and you definitely have very good legs. Has your DH been looking at them so long that his eyesight has gone or something?

Anyway, I vote keep.

Keep the skirt but send your DH to the charity shop!

I think you have great legs!
