Am I veering into "Nana bootees" territory with these boots?

Ignore the fact that they're from Cotton Traders Wink, are these boots really old lady? I quite like the way they look with the leggings and thick socks, but I'd probably wear them under straight leg jeans (don't like skinnies on me) as a sort of desert boot.

If you do think they're not totally shocking, then which colour do you think is best? Apologies for the photos taken of a magazine page, I could find them on the website and link if better.

Same photo uploaded twice! Here's the one with socks and leggings.

I saw those too. Was it from a Cotton Traders ad?

I think they look really nice. I am still considering trying them. I feel more tempted actually now that I know that someone else considered them too...

Yes, cotton traders. Didn't read...was too excited sorry!

I liked the granite.

My granny would wear these in winter she looked cute but she was in her 70's. So yes definitely Nana boots.

Oh they look great and so warm! May not win any high fashion awards but who cares - you will have the warmest feet ever Grin Go for it.

I would go for the burgundy colour

But did your granny have jeans on Zara? Wink

Which colour did you like Behoove - the wine colour? And yes Lotta that's what I thought: lovely and warm and I can just sling them on quickly.

Oh I'm going to get them.

www.cottontraders.com/bonfire-brights/sherpa-zip-boot-sherpa-zip-boot/invt/aq11499

Showing as £50 on the website, but £25 on the advert in the Guardian magazine. What do you think?

Under the main pic on the link, there another one "pull on Sherpa lined boot" at £25 reduced from £50. They look less nana to me then the ones with a zip in them.
I think it's the zip that I don't like, they do look very cosy though Smile

"Nana Boots" come in different shapes and sizes. I know people in their 80s who wear UGG boots and people don't call them "Nana Boots"- do they? If you like them- buy them.

I saw those but the pull one ones are only available in petrol blue in my size Dumpy which I'm not keen on, otherwise I would've got a pull on pair and a zip pair in two different colours. Us nana wannabes know how to live Wink.

I'm only in my early 40s btw Grin.

But lots of Ugg(ly) boots are very similar to nan boots.
Margot she wore them with her wool trousers and she looked cute.

I don't like the expression nana boots but I much prefer the sherpa boots. But if you like them, get them!Grin

There are lots of poor reviews for the pull on ones.

Yes, I'll get them - one drawback is having to pay for return postage if they're no good though.

I've been pretty disappointed with the quality on my last few orders and think things are a bit over priced. Do you like Skecher's boots? Brantano are doing 20% off atm.

These are the same but different price Confused.

I have never had Sketchers boots Dame, have had some of their shoes for the dc though. Will have a look thanks.

Thanks for that link 46direct but they are synthetic uppers.

Yes Zara but my point being people in their teens, 20s, 30s wear UGG boots and would say these are "Nana" boots. Make what YOU want of them.

Thank you Dame they remind me of moon boots - remember those?!

I think the appeal of the Cotton Traders was a lot to do with the price. If the suede doesn't bear up well then 25 quid isn't too much to write off.

I like them Margot. So much that am considering ordering a pair in the wine colour! Grin Is there a code to get them for 25 pounds or do I need the Guardian article?
