Majirel hair colour advice please

Hi
Years ago when I lived in London I had my hair dyed using Majirel and I absolutely loved it! Due to budget constraints I'm hoping to buy some Majirel and dye my hair at home. I got in contact with the Salon to find out what colour they'd used and they said they'd lost their records.
I've got a picture of the colour I had and was hoping someone could suggest which shade(s) of dye I need to buy. Sorry it's a terrible photo from a scan so not sure how helpful it will be.
My hair is dark brown and the colour was a bit lighter than my natural colour and very warm and rich.

Majirel hair colour advice please

That looks similar to mine at the moment, perhaps a bit lighter. I used 5.35 at the weekend, yours may be closer to 6.35. (I wish I'd gone a bit lighter really). If you've got a Sallys near you they should have the swatch book to look at.

I think it's a 7.35. Google shows swatches of the colour to check.

Thanks both. Sounds like it's a 0.35 but not sure if to go for the 6 or the 7... my natural colour is dark, probably a 4? - how many shades lighter can you go?
Do either of you know what I need to mix it with, and do I use the one colour on it's own? I've seen lots of people mentioning mixing it with a "base" colour

No you just use the shade. If you mixed it with a straight base it would only have a slight hue of the colour and look solid and pretty flat.

You mix majirel 50ml with 75 ml cream peroxide 20 or 30 vol. I find the 30 vol lifts and fixes it better. The Jerome Russell one is already measured out at the right amount. It will lift enough from a level 4.

You will need only a small amount to do your roots so keep to 1:1.5 ratio and it will last ages. It does come with an instruction sheet.

You also need a tint bowl, tint brush and gloves.

Thanks for the advice Milmingebag. Perhaps wrongly, I feel a bit nervous about going for the 7.35 as it's my first time using the majirel and feel like there could be more to go wrong with a dramatic shade difference. I've ordered the 6.35 and will post back with results once I work up the courage to try it

6.35 will look great too - no need to stress it will look fabulous. Smile

Taystee did you use the 6.35 and if you did, are you happy with it?

I ordered off ebay and it took a while to come. Just doing the 48 hour skin test first. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to mix the colourant with peroxide before testing? The instructions aren't in English... Google translate seems to say use it unmixed
