Under-eye concealer help

I'm just starting to get back into wearing a bit of make up, having worn nothing for a few years. I'm finding however that time and two young children has really taken its toll on my face and I'm struggling in particular around my eyes. I used to use Touche Ã?clat under my eyes and that worked well for years; it does nothing now. I bought a Rimmel concealer/illuminator but it does little for my dark patches and just seems to emphasise all the creases and wrinkles!

Having spent such a long time being too tired and down to care how I look it's a little upsetting to finally want to look good and finding myself fat, wrinkly and haggard. I've started drinking more water and using an eye cream but could really do with suggestions for products and/or techniques to help my under-eye area please.

Estee Lauder creme concealer. Its got great coverage, is moisturising and has stuff in it to help dark circle. It lasts all day, doesn't irritate your eyes and blends really well with other Makeup or just bare skin.
I couldn't live without it!

Also cold eye masks help, mine can get puffy and that sorts it out Smile

I have always had dark circles under my eyes and nothing has worked better than Bobbi Brown corrector and creamy concealer.

My friend uses a bare minerals one, it looks good on her. I worry that anything I use just sits in the wrinkles!

What has made a huge difference to my under eye circles is putting primer on the shadows before concealing. I use the L'Oreal studio secrets one. I had good results with benefit erase paste which is pink toned like my skin, I think their Lemonaid is better for yellow toned skin

Thank you for the suggestions! Until I can find something I'll definitely try putting primer under my eyes as I normally don't put any on my cheeks.

Hello,
Im a make up artist by trade and use a lot of different products.
Dior nude concealer is LUSH!
Hydrating for under the eye too.
Try to avoid putting anything for the FACE on the EYE area as its not tested for that area and your eyes can react.
Try not to apply too much eye cream this will prevent creasing and after application of concealer leave it for 5 minutes and return to the mirror, using your ring fingers lightly roll the pads of your fingers under the eye to remove any excess and prevent creasing.
Try to stay with a light concealer but do remember if your trying to go for the 'natural' look sometimes you actually need to apply a little more than you would normally wear to help achieve this.

Hope that helps :) x

I love Touche Veloutee from By Terry. Also rate Secret Camouflage by Laura Mercier.

I have noticed under eye bags recently and saw a pin on pinterest which recommended daring an upside down triangle under each eye down to almost the bottom of your nose and filling that with concealer. tried it today and I looked much perkier.

I've read that wearing sunglasses whenever the sun is out is great as it prevents sun damage to the delicate skin, which can make dark spots, sagging, wrinkles ect worse. You should wear a strong facial SPF too.
I'm going to stick to this religiously, my skin is ok (ish.....) so far but think its time to start more preventative stuff as well as Coving the problems up.
