Struggling with silicon free etc hair products- should I persevere??

Have been using Naked paraben/SPS whatsit free products for the past 10 days in an attempt to magically tame my hair.

It's frizzier and coarser than ever, and I'm missing my nice soft chemicals! Is it worth persevering?

That stuff ruined my hair and made it like straw!!! Ditch it quick! It took over a month to get my hair back to tip top condition. Bloody stuff should be banned imo!

Ooh thank you, I haven't tried that for years. Figured it couldn't be any good if so cheap (am hugely gullible to expensive stuff). Will definitely try it!

Naked stuff wrecked my hair but organix if I'm feeling flush or good hair day shampoo from Sainsburys have got it back in fab condition without a load of chemicals. But seriously that Naked stuff is horrendous!

I hated Naked as well, instant haystack. I now use Loreal Ever Sleek which is sulphate and silicone free (recommended on here) and every other wash I only use conditioner - either the ever sleek one or Tresemme Naturals which comes in a huge cheap bottle so can be slathered on.

All the "healthy" ones I have tried, leave my hair like straw and full of dandruff. I have tried Naked, Organix, Aveda. Welleda is ok, but I need piles of conditioner afterwards and even then, my hair looks worse than with the silicon packed ones. I reckon that if my hair has survived 43 years of silicon exposure, it can endure another 40 or so

I hated the Naked stuff too, hair turned to knotted straw.

I'm now back to Aussie stuff which makes my hair silky and lovely.

India Knight said the Babybliss ionic brush is brilliant. About 30 pounds in Boots.
I haven't tried it though.
It might work.

My hairdresser who specialises in curly hair recommended the Bodyshop Rainforest range. I have ditched all my products with silicone in and my hair definitely looks healthier. Does take time though. Silicone is like a form of plastic that over time builds up and creates a barrier preventing your hair from absorbing any moisture so although it may look shiny it's actually doing more harm than good.

I bought some stuff called Mistry from my local health food store, after being seriously unimpressed by Dr Organic and others including Naked. I thought it was going to be terrible but its great. My hair is really soft and shiny on the first use.

I tried the Bpdy Shop Rainforest stuff too, it was also crap! I bought loads when it was 40% off! I gave it to the school for the Christmas donate a bottle thing we had to do.

I don't even know why I tried silicone free really. Something I read on MN, I think......

I tried Naked and disliked it, although the serum is good. I have Timotei Pure now (£1 at savers) and it is much better. Hair feels light and unclogged and curls are good!

I use naked and I think my hair did initially fuzz up a bit but it's impact on my skin was very obvious - never mind the silicone, sulphates are the thing I need to avoid.

BodyShop Rainforest worked like a dream for me, instant transformation from silicone haystack to soft shine. Recommendation from here (thank you MN!). Still using it.

I also love bodyshop rainforest, my hair is so much softer than before. It took a good few weeks to get rid of the build up though
