Anyone had eyelash Extensions?

I'm thinking of having them done but I'm worried about the upkeep. I've always wanted long thick lashes.
How do they feel on the lashes?

I hated. Really itchy

I had them done on a Friday, by Monday they had all fallen out. Complete waste of £50. I just use RapidLash now. Same results and it lasts.

I am in Australia & a girl is charging $40 (normally $150) as she needs the practice as hasn't done them for a while.
I might just try them as it's not too much money to lose.

It's always on my To Do list to try them! I've seen people with them before and they've looked great (and seem to have lasted reasonably well on them).
Is Rapidlash really that good Nonna? How does it work / what does it do? My lashes are very short and straight.

Go for it Tabby at such a bargain it's worth trying them out. If they are no good or you don't like them, you won't feel like you have wasted too much money.

I've had them - look fab for about three weeks than start looking odd as some still in and some out ! You should go every couple of weeks to stop this and have some more reapplied. It's the time it takes hat stops me going so often - takes over 2 hours !

Have used rapid lash stuff and didn't make much difference.

I've been having lash extensions every 2 weeks for 3 years. I love them and wouldn't be without them.

and the lady I go to takes under an hour to do the fortnightly infills.

Had them in for a week, the itching and inability to rub my eyes/clean my face/wear glasses drove me to get them off.. Unfortunately even using oil as recommended many of my own meagre lashes came out.
I am never going to have them done again. 2 hours to out in which included unglueing my bottom set from the extensions...
Not impressed, they looked and felt odd

Sorry to go off on one, but use a good mascara, use rapid lash use stick ons but don't damage your own lashes

A few of my friends have had them done and I don't like how they look close up and after a week or so they can look pretty bad.

I love mines. I've had them for almost two ears. I get the topped up usually every week, they don't feel like they are there, and they look fab.

It's far easier to sit for fifteen minutes getting them topped up than mess about with mascara every day.

I suppose it depends how good your technician and the materials they use are though - similar to nail treatments.

I've had them done for the last year. Infills every 2 weeks. I love them. [Grin] Look great and save me so much time - the time I used to spend with mascara and straighteners every morning trying to make my eyelashes look half decent!

I think getting them touched up every week is the way to keep them looking good.

Straighteners = curlers = too much gin Grin

I've hear good things about Elizabeth Arden ceramide lash extending treatment mascara (mascara comes in black or brown, I think, and encourages lash growth (£21), I think. I know lots of people are put off EA (many think it's an older lady range) but I used to LOVE their lash defining mascara before they DC'd it years ago. The ceramide lash has good review and is supposed to be easy to wash off (ophthalomologically and dermatologically tested). I think I'd try this before I shelled out the cash for eyelash extensions tbh. A lot of people use a tiny drop of castor oil at the root of the lashes to encourage growth but I find neat oils near my eyes irritating. HTH.

I like the look of them but they felt awful.

£80 wasted! I use rapid lash now, top and bottom which is much better.

Try it and see how you get on.
