Help me find an outfit for a night out in London this weekend!

It's for a dress-up glam girlie night out type affair and I have nothing to wear. Everything in my wardrobe looks seriously frumpy and I'd really like to find something I feel great in because I haven't had a good girls night out in yonks.

Vital stats - I'm 5' 5'', size 14, substantial norks, won't wear a dress or skirt above knee length, would prefer to keep my upper arms under wraps and don't want to draw attention to my wobbly mummy tummy. Very pear shaped.

Budget wise - around £100 for dress or outfit to go with existing shoes, jacket etc, but would go to £200 if I need new shoes or other accessories.

Got to pop out just now, but will come back later. TIA.

The Pretty Dress Company are great. I've bought several dresses from there, they are well made and very flattering. I have a similar body shape to yours by the sounds of it, the dresses make me feel fab. I always wear spanx underneath though! Smile

Thanks for the post LittleIllusionMachine. I've had a look but nothing really caught my eye.

Thanks fauxfox. The biba is lovely on the model but it looks a bit too unforgiving for me, and apart from the coast dress which I'm not sold on, the others were all too short.

Monsoon?

I've not looked at monsoon - do they do outfits for a saturday night? I've only ever gone in when looking for something to wear to a wedding.

Have to go make dinner, crossing my fingers for some more links later...

Fcuk have a couple of lovely cowl neck dresses at the moment that would be very flattering on your chebs. They're dark too, so easy to style, and fcuk I always find to be high quality.

I have this pied a terre dress coming so I haven't tried it yet but the reviews are v good. Comes in lots of colours plus there's a long sleeve version too.

How about this?

Phase Eight cuts are very good on pear shapes (speaking from experience) and though the colour makes it bright enough for a night out you could wear it in the day too.

Think I hijacked this dress idea from another thread so can't take credit for it.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I've been having a good browse tonight. There are definitely a couple at french connection that I like the look of some but not sure about length so I'm going to try and go there tomorrow.

I think I quite like this one that I've come across, worn with little fitted jacket and clutch bag. But not sure if it's a bit dull.

Yes, thank you FauxFox for the links (and for taking the time to post). I loved the ones you posted around 5.30ish. I thought the wallpaper print dress was gorgeous too, but you're right - not with my bust!

Racingheart - I've got a couple of dresses similar to the phase eight one, so I think it would suit me, but I was hoping to try and get something a bit different if I could, but thank you for your post.

Chewbacca - that pied a terre dress is gorgeous but slightly out of the price bracket this time. I am however going to a wedding next month that will necessitate another new frock so I'll bear it in mind for that!

I'm going to order a couple of dresses from mint velvet then try and get to French Connection tomorrow or Thursday so I've got a few options. Any other links in the meantime most welcome!
