Help! MN haircut = mullet!

BrittaPerry · 22/05/2012 13:36

ARGH! I gave myself the MN haircut, dyed it all black/purple, and it looks like a mullet! The short layers are kind of more "pouffy" than the others.

I have a work thing to do tonight where I need to look good (hence the haircut, and I have tried to dye it purple but it has turned nearer to black and so I will have to wear more makeup just to look alive)

WHAT DO I DO????

... Maybe if you posted a picture we could give better advice?

Seriously though, maybe it's not as bad as you think, has anyone else seen it?

updo?

Oh fuck. Well, washing your hair a few times should help lighten the colour - maybe - and an up do sounds like a damn good idea.

Side parting, tied low at the back. The shorter bits should then curl attractively round the ear/chin and look like they're designed to be there.

I have to say when I saw the cut instructions I did wonder about the potential for bits springing up uncontrollably round the ears.

Could you cut the back a bit to make it less mulletty?

OK, I will take a picture...

Wail. I am just waiting for the photo to email to myself so I can put it up.

I look like I am in fancy dress as an 80's goth.

My work thing tonight involves SELLING COSMETICS. And hair stuff. Luckily it isn't one of the hair colours I sell - they are all normal colours - but ARGH.

try not to panic....let us see the photo and then we can make suggestions.

Sod's Law states these things always happen at the worst of times but you have hours before this evening so we'll be bale to sort something out.

Should I just brazen it out? Wear loads of eyeliner and some black lace with my DMs and pretend I meant to do it?

try no to worry. I'm sure it doesn't look too bad. Hard to say when I can't see but tell me how long the mullet bit is at the back and how short the shortest layers are

pictish · 22/05/2012 14:06

Honestly? Get a hairdresser to sort it out.
Sorry. x

I can see it

Colour's a bit....plummy Grin

Cut's not TOO bad. Can you shorten the back so there's not such a disparity between the front and the back??

Yes, and when I say 'can YOU shorten the back' what I mean is 'can THEY shorten the back...'

Ok got the picture. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be at all.

I love the colour.

I'd suggest straightening all out with GHDs and then running some styling wax (only a little or it will look greasy) through the neds to rough it up a bit and give some texture. will look ve funky and glam :)
