Day cream? Night cream?....any cream?

I've always spent fairly freely on face cream, but money is tight and I need to cut back...ideally to products that are below a fiver.

Problem is I think I've been so sucked in by all the marketing that I can't work out what I actually need. Can anyone advise?

Do I literally just need spf (day) and some moisturer (night)?

Do I need seperate eye cream?

So far I have tried Asda Q10 cream (strongly perfumed and smelt foul) and Boots Vitamin E cream (better). Cost about £2 and £3 respectively

Any other recommendations?

Posted earlier about Simple products which are on offer in Sainsburys, any 2 for £4. So I got a day moisturiser (£3.75) which comes in light or rich, and a vitamin night cream (£5.70), all for £4. Can't go wrong really Smile

Soap and glory - a little more expensive but often get offer in boots - I like their eye and night cream.
If you re on a budget BB cream is in offer in tesco at the moment. That should sort your day time routine out.
I like Nivea eye cream too.

Super drug optima creams in the lilac pots are very good and under 5.

I don't think they work other than for comfort.
Any cheap moisturiser and a SPF for the day
Glycolic acid or retin a if you have age/pore/acne problems

Body Shop products are lovely, too.

I've been using...wait for it...Lidl Q10 Day cream. It's £1.99! It has SPF and is light textured with a subtle citrus fragrance. Definitely worth a go.

I second that Chippy, I will also add that I am wearing the Aldi Q10 as I type. Also £1.99, rich and smelling of roses, it does a brilliant job and I love it.

nivea Q10 is great as a night cream. And I absolutely swear by boots time delay day cream - it's gorgeous.
