Trouser advice please for pear shape

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to advise me on where I can get some nice trousers and jeans to fit my massive bottom and hips juicy pear shape. I'm much bigger on my hips etc, but have a small waist, so spend most of my time in dresses (which I do think suit me more). However, it's ain't always practical (plus I live in Scotland and it's now freezing already), and without going down the elasticated waist route, any thoughts on where I might get some nice, flattering-ish trews? Normally, I have to get two sizes bigger, then have them hoicked in at the waist, which also leaves an odd waist band-bit at the back...Sigh. Or should I cut my losses and stick to Cath Kidston dresses which suit me?! I do now have a paranoia that I look hideous in all trousers, so the task is a difficult one....
Thanks in advance Smile.

Dresses over leggings? I know it gets sneered at on here, but it means you can wear clothes that suit you and still be warm...

I have this slim-waisted pear issue and have had some success buying jeans from Gap and the odd pair of trousers from Fat Face.

My plan is don't wear jeans or trousers.
It has saved me years of misery.

Ooh, very interesting information, thank you! I do like the leggings and dress combo too, and wear a lot, but do need to branch out a bit too. Will have a look at Gap (always assumed was for skinny minnies, not moi).

I'm the same (though don't wear many dresses) and I'm regularly Angry over the amount of trouser styles that look shyte on me :(
Like the Gap ones but can anyone recommend similar that haven't got as much flare at the bottom but aren't skinny? Trousers that is, not jeans. I'm prepared to pay out the bucks for a nice pair but haven't succeeded yet....

I have both the grey and black GAP trousers! First pair of properly fitted trousers I have ever owned. Have had to wear wide leg trousers for years. At £25 they are a complete bargain. Do give them a go.

Why don't you buy trousers that don't go up to your waist? The Banana Republic Sloan Fit is very flattering.

Banana Republic Jackson fit should work, smaller waist and more room for thighs
