I would like a vitalising one and a relaxing one.

I've got Roger & Gallet Jean Marie Farina shower gel - it lathers nicely and smells beautifully of eau de cologne (which I find revitalising) - but they have lots of other nice scents. The only problem (in Leeds at least) is finding stockists - they usually have it at John Lewis but otherwise it tends to be the less chainstore-type shops that sell it, like Fenwicks or independent chemists. Costs £11.50 so not cheap, but my bottle has lasted quite well. I'm sure you can get it online but then you wouldn't be able to smell it first!

I like both relax and tonic products from Clarins.

Molton Brown shower gels are gorgeous - especially the Enlivening Toku Yuzu (sp?) one and the Heavenly Gingerlily one. The scent really lasts, and they have a nice texture. The Davana Blossom bath product is also really luxurious and relaxing.

Another vote for Molton Brown heavenly gingerlily. When I was pregnant with DS, on the day on delivery the midwife said, your tummy smells gorgeous (which I hope distracted from it's hugeness).

I am also a big fan of Origins - Calm your senses (Lavender) or Gloomaway (grapefruit) and in the winter; Ginger.

For easily available in the supermarket treat, I love Badedas.

Big Neal's Yard fan here - love their Sensual Jasmine for special occasions and Orange and Geranium for day to day. They last AGES too and have no nasty SLS in them so I don't seem to need much body moisturiser when using them.

I'd chip in a vote for Lush shower gels.

Not a cheap wash at between £4-£5 for 100g bottles and more like £15+ for a 500g big bottle, but some of them are really lovely and they're all natural ingredients with no nasties or OTT chemically fake scents. The standard ones are available in the shops and the "retro" ones only online; they're usually old scents that have been discontinued to make space in the shops for the new ones but they still make small batches up for diehard fans who can't live without their Lush fix!

Happy Hippy and Back for Breakfast are both really zingy, citusy and great for a morning shower, while Freeze and Dirty are minty. For luxury if you know and like the "Honey I Washed The Kids" soap then It's Raining Men is the shower gel version of that - it smells like creme caramel mixed with honey and is so gorgeous! More randomly Sonic Death Monkey is made from coffee, chocolate and lime juice so that's a pretty unique mixture to wash with.

L'Occitane, definitely.

Mmmm think I will have to pay a visit to molton brown.

Dumb question alert : if you use a perfumed shower gel, do you also then use perfume??

Badedas!

Depends how perfumey it is really, or how perfumed you want to be - I usually don't bother for the day to day SAHM stuff, might layer it a bit more for evenings / special occasions. With the Molton Brown ones, I've had people think I was wearing perfume when I wasn't. I agree. L'Occitane and Lush do some nice ones (though Lush keeps discontinuing all the things I like :( ).

Dr Organic shower gels from Holland & Barret are also good but very cheap Grin

For pricey, try Decleor? I haven't tried them, but the other stuff from their range is amazing.

Weleda do some lovely creamy body washes with essential oils. Waitrose and some independent pharmacies do them. The green and orange ones are really zingy.

another vote for LUSH, just ordered another batch of It's Raining Men and Sonic Death Monkey (smells like coffee!).And Happy Hippy is really nice grapefruity too - I like that they use real coffee/honey/ grapefruit juice/oil and not chemical perfumes.

Also, Clarins Eau Dynamissante. Again the body lotion's beautiful, light and I'm always asked what I've "got on" when I'm using it. Not cheap though so don't use everyday!

aha, my favourite thing - luxe shower gels! I am a late convert, used to think they were all the same but some were just overpriced... not true! Now I always ask for posh shower gels for birthday/Xmas presents.

I really like Origins Gloomaway, lovely texture and feels great on the skin, also wakes you up as a lovely fresh grapefruit scent. They stopped doing it for a few years which was annoying but hooray, it's now back.
Origins Gloomaway

Also look at Greek brand Korres, all natural and some lovely fragrances. My fave is Guava. Korres Guava

Finally REN are v expensive but i really like the Moroccan rose, it's really unique.
REN Rose Shower Gel

Enjoy!

oh and re: stockists - buy online, that way you are not restricted by who sells it in your city!
