what's the rest of the outfit, maybe we could suggest alternatives? you don't want to be buying a second corset if you already have one, they are not cheap!

Do you have a black bandeau style top that you could wear?

nickelbabyjesus · 31/12/2010 15:42

nickelbabyjesus - My skirt is green and black so I really wanted black but I could do others if I have to.

Meggles76 - I only have a cami top that comes close to working but it sort of makes the skirt less impressive and dresses it down if you know what I mean and I bloody made the thing so want it to look nice!

madammecholet - next!! Good thinking, I tried new look.

Also have tried monsoon, dorothy perkins, Jane Normal, Yumi, Top Shop. Just nipping out but will be checking this from my phone so keep ideas coming!

TopShop has a nice one in the sale £15, it's black/cream. I bought it for DD when it was £25 and it looks lovely on her, sexy but not tacky.

a black "body" wearing a bra over the top? not sure how that would look. If you are handy with a needle and thread then maybe try attaching fabric (assuming you have some!) to a black bra?

ah, now, if Jenai's frocks in H&M are corset based, then you could get one of those

If it's corset-top with skirty-bit, you can cut off the skirty-bit.

if it's just a long corset, you can wear it under the skirt (provided you don't need to do any dancing)

I was hoping that your skirt would have just been black, then a different colour would work. :(

I think they were dresses actually. But they were bloody short. Worth a look I reckon. Def go to Ann Summers if you have a branch though.

If you happen to be in South Birmingham and a size 12 I have one you could borrow!

Otherwise, if you have a black scarf, you could maybe tie it as a bandeau type top?

Right everyone crisis averted! I'm in Bristol BTW but thank you BelligerentYhoULE for the offer!

I'm wearing an M&S bra now and managed attach some fabric to it sort of like a non tacky bandage top. It looks alright! I should add I'm 27 so can pull this off, plus who really cares!

Happy New Year everyone x
