What is your schools policy on prevention of forced arranged marriage of students?

What is your school's policy on the protection of teenage girls (and boys) from forced arranged marriage, spotting danger signs and stopping these from occuring abroad or in the uk.... bearing in mind we are talking 1000s of victms a year forced by parents into what is effectively sex slave trafficing little different to that done by east european groups forcing teenage girls into prositition away from thir country.

Where threats of violence, honour killing, ostracistion, taking victems abroad under the guise of holidays then taking their passport in remote areaa ar common place.

And what is the policy of aiding rescue of any student beleived to have been 'disappeared' in one of these situation?

Bearing in mind culture, tradition, relgion cannot ever be respected if it is supporting rape and abuse...

This can be done to girls as young as 12 in particular regarding pakistan, Bangladesh, Afganistan

This is not being racist either as you are not born with any culture, relgion or tradtion its something you choose just like choosing to be a hippy, goth, football fan, or surfer as opposed to a member of the KKK national front, football thug, gang member etc.

Likewise a policy on supporting a students right to date and form relationships regardless of their brother or parents wishes.

Also any policy on what to do if a tacher suspects a girl may be indanger of female circumcsion/female genital mutilation?

Look it up FGM

sorry but i have no idea what on earth this has to do with the school.

if a parent takes their child out of school then the school can't do anything surely?

i am not condoning any of the things in your post but i really fail to see how any of them are a school's problem. or what they could do about it

If anyone finds this inflamitity have a good look at yourself.

Which is worse? opening up an issue like this to try and prevent harm done to girls

Or wanting it hushed up and brushed under the carpet and censored so girls cn be effectively subjected to continual rape with nobody to stop it and how wouldyou feel if the victem was your daughter.? and not simply a girl whos skin pigment is different to your own.

Likewise why support a culture/tradtion/religion that victimises anyone?

I'm wondering why 'right to date' is being lumped in with rape and FGM etc?
And maybe you need to divorce culture from Islam?

Given schools rarely even tackle bullying I doubt any of a policy on this to be honest. And social services is way overstretched. I'd gladly pay more taxes to see money going into children's services myself.

JoeyF it would be nice to say who you are and why you are asking beforehand. 3 threads in one hour in different education boards - 2 on race etc and 1 on sex (ed?) for 8 yr olds?

what is your agenda. if you are in the meedja, then cough up the £30 to MN for asking.

I would expect a school to follow the Child protection policy it has in place if a teacher has concerns. However, sadly, if a child has been removed from the school there is probably not very much any policy will be able to do.

Well I'm a school nurse and in my area the police are running study days for schools and associated health professionals to raise awareness of forced/arranged marriages as well as cultural and 'honour' violence. (sorry not 100% sure of all the correct terminology as not at work now).

Unfortunately a parent has the right to remove a child from the school, and if they give a spurious reason all the school can really do if they suspect forced/arranged marriage or 'honour' violence is inform Children's Services and the police. The same as a school's safeguarding policy really.

As ds is one of only 2% non whites in his school I very much doubt they have a policy.

Seriously, though, I would hope that inner city schools would be v. aware of this potential problem and have someone that the children can confide in if it arises.

Is JoeyF related to Informer2? They both seem to have arrived from nowhere with big axes to grind.

I don't think it is a meedja request tbh. If it is, heaven help us. To me it reads more like someone from a 'British-only' organisation or a perv.

Lets see ...

Half the posters here appear to have some intelligence... stick to and discuss subject in hand.

The other half clearly lacking the intelligence to actually deal with the topic resort to character attacking and some down right stupid statements if you think about it logically.

Firstly the accusation mentioning issues like honour killing, relgion, forced arranged marriage etc makes you racist.

Clearly this is stupidity of the first order as

A) Discussing and encouraging open debate on these issues actually helps people in other races, cultures and relgions who may be victems here. Ie Im pretty sure a girl trapped in a forced arranged marriage is quite happy for anyone of any race to open the debate on the issue thats getting her raped in order someone come down and rescue her

B) Iheartdusty...

Clearly not engaging their brain, clearly having failed basic biology lesson on genetics

Now unlike you I will explain my reasoning on calling you dumb.

Relgion, tradition , culture, and beleifs are NOT race.

The notion of racisim is judging somone from what they cannot help of choose.

Ie Without some serious surgery you can help being male or female.

You cant help being gay, stright or Bi its your gentics

and unless you're Michael Jackson you cant change the colour of your skin

You sex, pigmentation and sexuality is your 'race'

Relgion, beleifs, tradtion, and culture are CHOICES

If your mum and dad were oriental, black, white, cat or dog

You will be the same.

But you can chose if you follow and support the beleifs of your parents

For example someone who had WW2 nazi parents does not have to support Hitler, they can join the resistance and help jews.

Likewise you dont have to follow your KKK parents

or stick to christianity, islam, buddisim, cannibalisim, human sacrifice aztecisim

Infact you can be muslim on tuesday, change to being a jew on thusday, christainity on Sunday, spen a month being a Jedi following the teachings of Yoda then become an atheist isf you should chose.

This means if a belief system carries out criminal, abusive, unfair or down right psychotic actions you dont have to stick with it therefore its a choice and therefore you are responsible for your decisions to support a particular relgion.

Just like I who as it happens is not white for your information does not have to be a binge drinking, junk food quaffing chav who gets teenage girls pregant withtou supporting them then runs amock in a Spanish holiday resport like a typical Brit.

Thus criticising absolutely horrendous human rights abusive mainly agaisnt the female race with the intention of stopping it does NOT MAKE YOU A RACIST however saying anyone who condemns abuse of women and children is a racist does make you a bleeding imbecile

And that does double for the air brained dimwit who thinks highlighting the abuse of women to try and cut down on the number of teenage girls being condemn to a life of being raped or worse... you know sexaully assulted by real perverts makes you a perve

I take it foxy (funny thought foxes were supposed to be smart)

If you think Im a perve for bringing up the issue of forced arranged marriage and honour killing you clearly think all child protection officers, rape councellors, and anyone working on a specialist antui rape police unit is also a perve as they have the same intention of preventing rapes.

DUH !!!!!!!

quote as for

I'm wondering why 'right to date' is being lumped in with rape and FGM etc?
And maybe you need to divorce culture from Islam?

Simple... you will find that its those brothers and fathers who won't let their daughters and sister date who they choose as long as said choice is not some junkie thug who has got several other girls pregnant and not helped out at all but thought it fun to go on the jeremy Kyle show to boast.

Who want their daughter or sister under their control so they can have her raped in an arranged marriage as they dont want their 'product used' boefore its sold.

And there is no different between islam, its assocaited culture and its abusive and perverted law system.

Take a typical islamic country.

The law is islamic law, the rules on its culture are islamic the whole system is islam thats what islam is.

Islam is not a relgion you attend to on one get to gether day

Wherever it gains influence and power it imposes a dictitoral legal and judicatial system of imposed culture called sharia.

Where you get the relgious police arresting young couples under islamic law to be tried underislamic law and put to death under islamic law so clearly the culture and relgion are one.

oh and no not a journalist... and yes axer to grind...

quote a good one...

Said axe is to stop perverted child abuse and rape.

Not something a 'perve' would want as a 'perve' would support these things whihc then indicates certain posts who are going against me on this and clearly support such acts as honour killing and forced arranged marriage are the true pervs and dangers to women and children.

Now Try arguing with the logic in that as opposed to attacking the poster or crying to any moderator.

I don't suppose you've ever come across the idea that the way to win hearts and minds is not to attack people who quesion/disagree with you?

Actually thinking more of blowing the credibility of their beleif systems out of the water with logic and facts.

And as for Manatee

Who is the loon... you the onne supporting the rape of teenage girls or me the one trying to stop it.

Plus if a loon surely you can take apart the arguments rather than attack the poster?

As surely loon statements and logic are easy to counter argue.

For example a 'loon' would say smoking a joint is harmless but cigarettes will give you cancer.

An intelligent poster unlike you Manante would no call the pro slpif poster simply a loon.

Somone with an education would look at the statement logically and apply the facts.

and say something like

Mr Spliffy whats in a cigarette? paper, tabacco and a filter

Whats in a joint? paper tabacco a little cannibis/hash and the filter is replaced by a bit of card.

You also inhale a spliff deeper therefore the fact is that smoking a joint means you inhale more tabbacco therefore run a higher risk of cancer.

Thus blowing Mr Splifs argument out of the window in a way they cant answer back as the facts speak for themselves.

So who here is right?

The one with the knowledge here? or the one doing the childish name calling like a little baby?
