B****Y MIDDLE CLASSES !

so here's the thing, having a major whinge to all daytime idlers out there bless you lol..Smile

Been going on this walking club on and off since 2004, nice people, lovely countryside.. suddenly all this anger comes out of nowhere towards me because I have started for the last 18 months to take a little terrier out with me. Dog needs exercise and I can't own a dog where I'm living so...good arrangement, happy days Smile only one day a week so fine.

Some of these peeps are angry because of perceived minor annoyances due to dog: danger that he might actually look at them while they are pigging out on posh foodie grub (has never happened) shock horror Shock that he might run occasionally and maybe bark at the odd bird or two Confused

All this discontent because their cosy selfish spoilt routine is viewed as being in danger of being disrupted.
What do I do about their attitude please ? Can i ever change it or are they too set in their cosy selfish attitudes ? Its also crazy because the dog is under control at all times and is a really sweet boy Star

Expect many of you have encountered these kinds of attitudes for one reason or another. Fight or walk away ?Angry
cheers Smile

And the middle classes come into it how?

I have three terriers and am MC. So I am intrigued.

Nothing 'middle class' about it, they just don't appreciate a dog coming on walks that used to be human only, some people just don't like dogs, they would feel that way regardless of what class they are. Hmm

Have you been drinking OP? Your post is quite wonderfully incoherent.

Presumably, no dogs have been on your walks since 2004 - probably a good reason for it. Some people are allergic or afraid of dogs, so did you ask their opinion on whether you could bring the dog along? If not, walk with them as usual without the dog, then take him for a separate walk on your onw, outwith the walking group.

(Still not sure why this is a Middle Class problem) . . .

I thought it was going to about top sets and bottom sets, and those in the middle getting overlooked or something Confused

If you can't have a dog where you live, what do you do with it when not walking Confused

More to the point, what can they do about YOUR selfish attitude, which certainly doesn't sound too cosy.

Are terriers working class? Labradors middle class?

And what would constitute 'quirky', assuming MNetters all have quirky dogs.

I need to know about the group. Is it exclusively for middle class people? Do you need to apply and get turned down if you're wearing too much tweed or a tracksuit? Who is banning the dog? And do you pick up the dog shit or flick it in the bushes.

Join a different group or just go with friends. They clearly don't want your dog on the walks.
Regardless of whether they're being reasonable or not, it won't be muchfun for you knowing you're not wanted.
