Help. Ashley Madison website

FritzDonovan · 08/09/2016 05:37

Don't give me a flaming for snooping. Need help from someone with a bit of computer savvy...
H search history shows two links to ashleymadison (the cheaters site),
one obv is to the homepage at
//www.ashleymadison.com/app/public/index.p
but the other looks like it must be from within the site at
//www.ashleymadison.com/?ac=13681&keywords=692308-1305170

This just takes me to the first link when I click on it, I have no idea what his username or password would be. Can anyone help??

Both links are coming up with the same page OP.

Both are the homepage.

AverageGayLad · 08/09/2016 05:44

Ac might be his account number, namely 13681..

Keywords means he's searched for something or someone, but if he's logged out since, you won't be able to view it.

I'm sorry OP Flowers

Wouldnt the second one go to the home page unless you were logged in though? How would a different link be produced if he'd just been on the homepage?

:( thanks Average...thought the keywords must have been search linked...

He hasn't just been on the homepage. You're right, the second link comes from within the site which means he has been logged in and actively searching for things. He then logged out rendering the link useless, although if he was logged in it would probably work as a link to whatever he was searching.

I hope this helps, this must be so difficult for you :( Flowers

You need to have a conversation with your DH. Fess up and explain why you were snooping (must be a reason) ask then him to explain himself.

Then ask*

if the OP created her own account then copied and pasted that second link in, would she be able to see what page he was looking at?

I have a friend whose husband was on this site. Try old email addresses as the login, even your own old email addresses. So sorry & good luck with the next steps. I just remembered that last summer the Telegraph had a checker, after AM was hacked you could put an email address in & see if there was an account linked to it. It might still be active (my friend's husband was & his name was published in a news paper. He lied to her & she believed him, the truth came out this year).

AverageGayLad · 08/09/2016 06:28

Anthony I don't believe so, as it was searched on the husband's login so it's stored "as him" if that makes sense?

Report
tribpot · 08/09/2016 06:30

No, because the URL is associated with his account (assuming we're right that ac=13681 is his account number). But modifying the URL to say *ashleymadison.com/?ac=

Good idea tribpot, will try and find the time to do that when kids are sorted.
Fluffy - I've tried having a conversation with him. Seems he's just a defective lying bastard. Doubt I'll get any truth apart from what I show as evidence. Following on from that thought, does anyone know if it's possible to take laptops /phones anywhere in order to get info off them? Or is there a person who does this? I'm not going to apologise for snooping, I found out he was lying about something by accident, now need the truth, which I doubt he will give me.

You could probably claim it was your teenage daughter's, and you need the info cause you're so worried about her Wink

Assuming you merely need it unlocking?

OP...go on Reddit. Ask in www.reddit.com/r/HowToHack that area if they can help you.

Someone there will crack in or help you do it.

This must be very difficult for you to take in, Im so sorry OP. What would you do if you found out he had been actively using that website?

Whatever happens, just remember that he will only admit to what he thinks he can get away with. You could ask him now and he'd say he's just browsed the homepage, and then you could say you know he's got an account on there and then he'll admit to that and so on. What's your bottom line?

Report
FritzDonovan · 08/09/2016 07:55

Boogers, I know, he's had numerous opportunities to come clean, wasn't sure what I was looking for but he had assured me that he hadn't done anything wrong. I'm pretty sure that if he's been using the site he knows I wouldn't be fine with it, therefore should have owned up when he had the chance. I'm sick and tired of little doubts which keep cropping up. Bottom line is he had the chance to own up, if it turns out he's been on there we're done.
I can get onto the laptop, just need to find demonstrative evidence, being able to prove he'd searched on AM would do it.

Is it not enough that you can see he's been on there? He sounds horrible op, making you doubt yourself over and over Sad

Why does anyone think you'll get the truth from a cheater?

The times I read "just ask him' on here amazes me.

Could you join? It's free for women & try and find him?

Bit of a long shot, I'm guessing they don't use all their real details.

Sorry this happened to you OP.

Whilst I agree that the fact that he was on there is all the evidence you need. (Even if he has done nothing yet he is clearly looking) I would probably register, find him, see if he wants to hook up and then show up at the meeting place.

Hope you get to the bottom of what he has been up to. Flowers

you don't need any more evidence - just get rid surely. What differencecould any evidence, or any minimising from him, make to your decision?

FritzDonovan · 08/09/2016 08:43

Because if he's only been on the homepage that's not a crime :-)

If he's only been on the homepage?
If he was on the homepage he'd have to actually search for it, meaning he's looking into joining a website specifically for people to cheat on their partner.

Not a crime, no, but you'd be a fool to stay with him.
