Hooray........ my Bathroom is FINALLY finished!!!

Sorry for the shameless boasting but after 6 months of living with the most horrible bathroom ever, then having no bathroom at all for a week (and having to pee in to a bucket!)..... It's finally finished! It feels like I'm in a posh hotel! Unfortunately I need to wait a week until I can switch the underfloor heating on though.

Can you tell which is the before and which is the after? Grin

I got a quote of £6.8k from an all in one bathroom fitting company Shockbut I bought all the bits online and the tiles from Homebase, then paid a local builder to fit it and managed to get it done for half that Wink. Sorry I'll try to stop showing off now!

It's lovely. Did you get rid of the bath? I'm trying to decide if this would work or not...

flogging yes, bath is away. I did dither quite a bit about that, but we got a great rainforest style shower that totally drenches you. It's amazing, so I think we made the right choice. It's so much nicer than having to clamber into the bath to have a shower.

The bathroom feels so much bigger too, which is great, as it is very small.

It does just now but let's see how long until it's covered in toothpaste marks and wet towels! (I give it 3 weeks)

V.v nice! And a great price too!

I'd also rather just have a walk in shower and sacrifice a bath.

We got all the fittings from bathroomempire.com , it was dirt cheap and the quality is great. I couldn't recommend them enough. (I'm not spamming for the site btw, a genuine recommendation!)

DH kept humming and hawing about getting rid of the bath. I bullied him into it but he's loving the luxurious shower (and the extra space) so far!

Nice!

I love nosing at other people's bathrooms - we've done one and are midway through the other and I think about little else

How do you know what shower tray to get? They have low and high level trays. Confused

Vertigo- talk to the plumber when you are getting quotes. They'll advise on shower tray based on where the waste stack is relative to the shower. The reason for a higher tray is to create more of a slope in the waste pipe so water runs away efficiently instead of pooling in the shower. If they can get a good slope just under the floor, you don't need a raised tray.

Ooh, it's lovely - congrats! And thank you also for sharing a photo - we're having our bathrooms done in June and have chosen very similar colours (in fact I think the wall tiles are the exact ones we've chosen) - although I'm looking forward to it, part of me has been worrying that it will be too dark, but seeing your bathroom, I'm now reassured!

Looks brilliant but, yikes did they really leave you without a toilet for a week??😱
I'm about to have mine refitting and the plumber promised that I'd not be
Left without a functioning toilet overnight
