If you felt really sick at 10 weeks, did you feel better by 12? Please say yes!

I am feeling absolutely terrible. I know I shouldn't complain too much because I am not actually vomiting. But I feel desperately sick, and it gets progressively worse throughout the day. It feels like a bad case of norovirus or something although unlike noro, I am pretty sure that in this case actually being sick wouldn't help.

I know these sickness threads have been done a million times but I keep reading about people whose sickness lasts well past 12 weeks. I can't bear the thought of that! Fortunately I am "working" from home (in fact not really working because I am struggling to concentrate through the nausea) but next week for example I have to stand up and deliver a talk to 400 delegates at a conference. I am dreading it and am having all sorts of nightmares about throwing up on stage!

So if you were feeling very sick at 10 weeks, did it get better any time soon after that? I have read that for some people it does peak around now. I'm desperately hoping that might be me.

I have two DC already but felt nothing like as shocking with them.

Around 16 weeks sorry - but it didn't get any worse between 10 and 12 weeks if I remember correctly.
It's absolutely hideous, I really feel for you.

Mine peaked at 10 weeks and disappeared almost overnight shortly after, to the extent that I thought I'd had a MMC.

Aaargh, 16 weeks. Poor you, that's awful. I had nothing till 8 weeks, felt great, then it hit and got progressively got worse quite quickly. If anything feel I'm still on the downward spiral. Another 6 weeks doesn't bear thinking about!! Oh GOD!

Mine started about 8 weeks, was worst about 12-14 weeks and stopped completely by 16 Smile

Welshweasel, that's amazing! I know that if my symptoms suddenly disappeared I would feel very worried too. But the thought that I could wake up one of these mornings feeling nearly OK gives me some optimism.

Same as others, sickness lasted til 16 weeks. I felt so cheated as everything I'd read said 12!!

Oh suckling. Another one at 16 weeks. I realise I am asking such a stupid question. There's no way of knowing obviously how it will be for me. I am just looking for glimmers of hope!

Hello OP. Mine eased around 13-14 weeks. Im now 18 + 4 and feel great. You will get there! I know what you mean, i had to do a few presentations before i had told work i was pg and was panicking how i was going to get through them but i pushed through OK. I was also never sick but felt very ill. Amazingly when i told work they said they had no idea i was pg....i figured noone pays any real notice at work!!

Sorry, although I was counting down the days until 12 weeks mine didn't stop then - was about 17 weeks until I stopped feeling so nauseous. Then the nauseousness was replaced by constant peeing and heartburn!

Oh another at 16 weeks. OK. Maybe I should prepare for 16 weeks and be glad if it's anything less. I have several more conferences during that period!! With lunches and networking etc thrown in, requiring that you look and sound vaguely alive. Oh God.

No sorry. Last one lasted entire pregnancy. Doctor told me today my sickness would end in a couple of weeks (I'm 18 weeks). Ha bloody ha.

I think I felt better by 12 OP- mine started between 7-8 and by the scan (13+2) I was feeling OK on the whole. I'm 19w now and the sickness is a distant memory, I find it so bizarre how sick you can feel without actually vomiting.
Hope you feel better soon. It is utterly draining and consuming and I remember feeling quite dark about it all actually Flowers

I seem to remember between weeks 14-16 I started to feel better in terms of sickness. After about 10 weeks it changed from feeling nauseous all the time to actually being sick, weirdly that was so much better because after being sick it was a relief and I felt better for a few hours. It was a gradual thing for it to disappear completely. Unfortunately I didn't just wake up one morning and it was completely gone.

I would recommend bubble gum chewing gum or fruit tick tacs to help with the sick feeling.

It's also worth remembering that although you feel like crap it's a really good thing. In my first pregnancy I had no sickness and discovered at 10 weeks that I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. This pregnancy I felt sick from 6 weeks onwards and I'm now 38 weeks pregnant.

I felt much better by 14 weeks - no sickness and now I'm 16 weeks full of energy. It gets worse before it gets better or disappears completely!!

Not necessarily, I'm 17 weeks and still upchucking. If you feel really bad, you should talk to your GP. Some women really suffer with this.

Oh I forgot to say too that mine was similar in that it got progressively worse throughout the day. I tried to eat some decent food for lunch as I often couldn't face tea.
If you find something you can bear, don't worry about having it all week (chilli con carne with rice was my fav) and nuts to snack on are good as don't taste strong but give a surprising amount of energy.
Also an hours nap at about 4pm helped get me through my tea and til bedtime at 8

I was vomiting the whole time up to and including labour. Childbirth was a breeze compared to pregnancy. Just keep lots of things handy to nibble, being hungry makes it worse, I found higher protein stuff cut my nausea down and I was less likely to vomit it straight back up.

Mine didn't stop until after 20 weeks with all three of mine. Sorry OP! Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone. Poor us.

Lionqueen - if I find something I can bear, once I've eaten it, I think it's the most disgusting thing possible, so I'm constantly having to think of new things to eat, because being hungry definitely makes it worse. Weirdly I feel simultaneously incredibly sick AND ALSO incredibly hungry. Awful.

Mine was awful from week 8-13 and I teach so found it very difficult to manage at work. Luckily it disappeared over night during week 14 but the dizziness stayed throughout the pregnancy.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Mine has eased off slightly - 11 weeks but it's not gone yet! Mine is mainly nausea aswell, I find sucking a sweet like something fruity helps a bit, and keep sipping water if you can!

Ah that awful conflict. I remember it well. DH made the most delicious chicken curry, when I was eating it I couldn't get enough of it. Cleared my whole plate for the first time in ages.
Can't stomach the thought of it, even now Confused
Keep trying & hopefully you'll find your version of my chilli con carne Smile

Whole pregnancy, I'm afraid. I was even being sick whilst contracting.

I took cyclizine which helped enable me to have a life, but it was still hard. Keep a bucket in the car and be ready to pull over. I was sick on myself more than once whilst driving.

Peppermint really helped me. Gum, tea, even just inhaling the scent.
