Hi everyone Smile

I'm new to this, so bear with me!
I found out I'm pregnant yesterday, after only having my coil taken out about 3 weeks ago, so we didn't have to try for long at all!!
I'm feeling very excited, absolutely terrified, emotional and totally overwhelmed. It's so surreal at the moment, I can't get my head around the fact that I'm actually PREGNANT!!
Just wondering if there are any other young first-time mums (I'm 24) that want to talk about stuff, it would really help me out Smile

Hi, I'm in same position as you but a little older. Feeling all the same things as you. I bought a book called 'First Time Parent' which is good.

Hey, nice to meet you, sort of Grin I don't know about you, but none of this feels real yet, maybe because I'm not seeing my GP until Friday. Hopefully after that it'll start sinking in!
When did you find out you're pregnant??

I am seeing my GP on Friday too. Feeling totally overwhelmed and have gone from grinning non stop to feeling quite anxiously overwhelmed.

My nausea has suddenly gone, don't know whether to be concerned or not. It's a minefield isn't it!

Maybe your body is just getting used to all the hormones?
I've had this pulling/stretching sensation in my belly for a while, but it's subsided a bit today. I sort of wish it would start again because right now it's the only thing making it feel a bit more real!

If you want to chat, the threads are all over in the Antenatal Clubs topic

(If you look there, you'll see how busy it is, and how rapidly all other questions would be swamped out it they crept over into here).

OP: you'll probably want one of these threads:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2672214-Due-in-February-2017-thread-3

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2666617-March-2017-Early-days

abbieparkes yes, that's about right. Pregnancies are dated from LMP (last menstrual period) which is - on a standard 28 day cycle - 14 days before ovulation, so conception takes place around then. But that's rough and ready, and doesn't allow for cycle length or how long sperm live. If for any reason you need an early scan, you might get a slightly varied date.

Hi yeah I just wanted to know really cause I saw on another message site that, I will be 5 weeks but I need to take weeks off which really means I'm 3 weeks pregnant and I conceived that time ago, I didn't really want to ask my nurse, but just really wanted to know, that's why I commented on here because that what someone else said so I believed it, x

Hello everyone! I'm 29 and found out I was pregnant with my first child yesterday. I'm very happy and ecstatic and so is my partner but I'm also absolutely terrified. I suffer from anxiety so I'm just hoping it won't be too overwhelming whilst I am pregnant. I'm seeing my GP this morning to announce my pregnancy. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Hi Lizzie! I'm seeing my GP today too, not really sure what to expect but we'll see Smile ahh I really hope your anxiety doesn't get too bad while you're pregnant, maybe the best thing to do is mention it to your GP so they can do their best to help you manage it? Good luck!!

You too zannah keep us posted! I rang my GP practice and they said a midwife will call me back today so it looks like I won't be seeing a doctor today or indeed anyone! Hopefully soon though!

Congratulations to you all!

It might be different elsewhere but when I found out I was pregnant I didn't need to see my GP. I rang my practice who told me to ring the Midwifery Service, I told them I was pregnant and when LMP was, and they booked me in for my 'booking' appointment which was at 8 weeks.

Never seen my GP about my pregnancy apart from when I wanted a free prescription for gaviscon. Which I drink like water. Grin

I went to see my GP today who did my blood pressure, took a wee sample and told me to call back on Tuesday when the results will be back from the lab, and they'll arrange a booking appointment with the midwife. All very anticlimactic haha!
