gift for daughter 35 weeks by Christmas?

My daughter will be 35 weeks pregnant with her first baby by Christmas and I haven't a clue what to get her for Christmas!

I will probably fall back on vouchers for after baby's born but really I'd prefer to get her something better. But even her feet have swelled. She's 31. Any ideas please?

i am not sure the pregnancy makes a difference? I was 34 weeks at Christmas with my first baby and did NOT appreciate getting stuff for the baby! lol

you could get her a voucher for a pregnancy massage (i think clarins salons do them they might even do other treatments that could help with swollen legs etc),or maybe you could get her a lovely body cream or lotion.

mamas and papas do lovely maternity clothes or if you wanted something she could wear after the baby is born why not get her a lovely scarf to wear when shes had the baby and is out and about in the cold pushing the pram,something really snuggly and luxurious to keep her warm.

Thisisyesterday - normally I'd get her designer wear or Ugg boots which she loves.

I know I could still do that but she'd not get the chance to wear them for a good while.

Definely something non baby related though.

I like the idea of a pregnancy massage too.

I was 35 weeks at my bday and really appreciated some lovely smellies and new make up. Great for before baby and made me feel lovely after baby arrived.

i'd get some sheepskin slippers, a nice new cardi a waterfall style (can wear whatever your size now and after the birth), Anything luxurious feeling cashmere socks, gloves etc.

pregnancy massage also a wonderful idea, or a pedicure?

some of those lovely maternity pjs that have a drop down clip for bf. my mum got me a set when i was pg it was a lovely 3 pc so had wraparound cardi too. wore it during final stages of pg and then in after baby was born for night time bfs....you can getr lovely ones on mothercare or mamas and papas i think.

If someone brought me Ugg boots I'd be more than happy. It won't take too long for her feet swelling to go down and they are wonderful boots.

My mum bought me really lovely pyjamas. She told me that she was planning to, knowing they wouldn't fit while I was pregnant. I wore them for the first time when I came home with DS and it was lovely, such a treat to come home and feel semi attractive and really cosy after the discomfort of hospital. I really remember that and really appreciated it.

How about some cinema vouchers, a meal at a very nice 'adult' restaurant, or such? Even a fun shopping trip at makeup counters. It's been a long time since I've been able to browse at leisure. Something that she won't be able to experience at the drop of a hat once baby is here?

my feet were really swollen in pregnancy, but went back down literally the day after ds1 was born!

I had a lovely pedicure at this stage, as I couldn't managed to do the polish myself. MV commented on my lovely toe nails during birth
I'd still get her the boots though, nothing baby related. I hardly got anything first pregnancy as everyone thought I would appreciate baby stuff (I didn't)

I'm 34 weeks now and just had my birthday, I got Ugg boots from my dad which I really love. Lots of books from my sisters which is fantastic for when I start maternity leave and can relax. My mum got me a yummy mummy changing bag which am very happy with as I could afford a nice one myself and really wanted a nice changing bag as I love bags. My DH got me a really lovely camera which I asked for so we could record all our memories as family and also got some lovely warm socks.

For Xmas I have asked for some new PJs as I have stretched all my current ones, and one of those half length dressing gowns for feeding in bed!

Pregnancy massage a great idea can't think of anything better right now!

I'll be 35 weeks on Christmas Day and think massage/spa vouchers, cashmere socks, luxurious cardi will all be on my list!

Ugg boots are a bit 'marmite' so may be worth checking whether she loves them or hates them before purchasing...!

My mum got me a pregnancy massage, manicure, haircut and facial with facial waxing - I thought I would hate it and loved it - she did it the week before Christmas for me which really lifted my spirits. Everyone else was going around in party frocks, drinking and eating loads I couldnt and I was feeling very sorry for myself

oh forgot - hubby bought me a digital photo frame and a pregnancy session from a local photographer to to bump pictures - was a lovely idea

Get her a new Mummy kit consisting of nice handcream, breastpads, nice bubble bath/shower gel (actually nice shower gel for when she's in the hospital is always nice), chocolate, lansinoh (if breastfeeding), a 'voucher' promising a cooked meal and a dvd she likes.

These were all things that helped me through the first few days.

Oooo also benetint/posietint and touche eclat have also featured in my post birth haze. I may not feel normal when I go out, but at least I can fake it until I make it. This depends on the person though really.

PGWomble...sorry can you explain the bit about Ugg boots being "marmite"? I'm pushing 60 and not very up on such expressions...! Is it good or bad?

Sorry Lucy. I just meant that some people really like them, but others hate them and feel that they are no longer fashionable. It's a lot of money to spend if your daughter doesn't like them and feels that they are dated now, so maybe best to check amongst her friends.
