Some of you may know that ds1 has had a hard time at school and as a result i had to pull him out.well i have found him a new school but the problem I have is financing the uniform I have not been so broke in a long time.

I have got to find so much by monday, does anyone have any 12-13 grey trousers, 12-13 white shirts, and any other bits that may be useful.

I still have to get all of the following

WA Boys Heavy Duty Twill Blazer with free tie £29.99
WA Pullover 100% cotton £14.99
WA White PE shirt £9.99
WA Black PE shorts £9.99
WA Navy Fleece sports Jacket £19.99
WA Navy Jogging pants £19.99
TRUTEX Shirts White twin Pack £9.99 (any white shirts)
Grey flat Front trousers £11.99 (any grey trousers)
Boy Banner Winter 3-in-1 Jacket £34.99 (this I can get any winter coat in place of)

Sorry I can't help you here. Have you tried asking the school if they have any second hand to sell? Lost property even?

TheMaster the school doesn't have a second hand uniform otherwise I would be kitting him out in it for a few months lol.

What about putting a notice up on the school notice board asking if anyone has any to sell?

I have put ads on freecycle and am off to a few shops today to grab the trousers and what I can that isn't logo'd

I'm so sorry I can't help financially LadyE. I'm shocked there is no second hand selling going on with such an expensive uniform! But if we can get a hundred people on here to send you a quid or five we should be able to raise the lion's share....

It is hard and I know how important it is for your ds to be in a safe school. Don't be embarrassed. Hope you get some more replies

well i guess starting a new school, not dressed properly would be cause for concern, as you don't want ds to stand out. is there noone is rl you could borrow the money from? Is there any way you can pop into the school office, (the ladies in my dd's school are really helpful), and may be able to point you in the right direction, for 2nd hand blazer and things?

GypsyMoth · 04/11/2009 13:38

what colour was his last uniform?

seeker · 04/11/2009 13:45

PLEASE tell me to bu*r off if I've got it wrong, but isn't this the child who reacted with hideous ingratitude to a series of expensive planned outings over the summer? Would it be completely unreasonable to say that not having the exact uniform immediately is a consequence of the money that was spent on him in the summer holidays and which he didn't appreciate?

And a decent approximation of the kit on the list (except the blazer) could come from Tesco - for significantly less than the prices stated.

Seeker, I would agree with you if he had not been through such a hard time at his previous secondary. I have got to pick trousers and shirts up tomorrow from my friends charity shop which is a help, can get the tie tomorrow, just need the blazer and p.e kit.

The school will not allow it - no uniform, no entry.
