Waves at ChunkyMonkeysMum! Would love an MN Surrey meet-up, so anyone else fancy joining in?

I'm quite far from you and my dds have all abandoned me to go to full time school

Just bumping this for you Chunky.

I would love to meet up with other MNers too, but I'm a bit too far away (near Godalming). I wanted to say hello anyway, and maybe someone closer to me might see this... Tracyface for example!

CarGirl, where are you?

Good luck Chunky. Sorry for slight hijack

Near Woking

Problem with Surrey is that it's so big with too much traffic in it!

Report
hotchachachaingbunny · 15/10/2009 23:05

Exactly. We may not be far apart geographically, but it would probably be faster to get to France than some parts of Surrey It's mad!

I travel to Horsham alot, it is 30 miles door to door the least time it has ever taken is 50 minutes........

We keep saying we'll go to IKEA in Croydon, but can't face it as the last time we went it took 1 hour 45 minutes... Must try the new Southampton one.

CarGirl · 16/10/2009 09:29

I go to the Wimbledon one as it's quicker than the Croydon one although it's nearer!

Hi there - I live in Oxted (so not too far from Chunky!) and would love to meet up with some MNers: I rarely post but follow a lot of threads with interest.

Two children, 21 and 18.

Reality dd1 goes to CH so be prepared for a quivering wreck to turn up on your doorstep we're going through teenage angst at the moment.......

SweetestThing start posting on the teenage threads we need more survivors on there to give us a help coping with those teen years!

Sorry I meant Wembley, I've been working for 2 weeks and it's fried what little brain I have left.

It's still quicker to get to though M25, M4, hanger lane roundabout and then you're there........ or south circular then northcircular

Report
hotchachachaingbunny · 16/10/2009 11:22

Oh ok, got all excited there... Yes we've been to the Wembley one, but the M25 was closed due to a car accident, and we've vowed never ever to go there again!

Report
CarGirl · 16/10/2009 11:30

eek that was unfortuate! I also know the back roads via Hounslow & T4 because I used to commute from Hendon to Bedfont Lakes daily for 4 months........

It is still preferable to Purley Way though - I got my car broken into there and then there was the time there was a fire in pet food warehouse and we stranded in the car park for 3 hours..........nothing but traumas going to Croydon!

hotchachachaingbunny · 16/10/2009 12:43

Yes I think knowing the escape routes help! I know south east London far better than the north bit! I do agree that Croydon is best avoided though. Will try to persuade dh that Southampton is the way to go - at least we could find the sea there!

LOL!!!!

I walk over the M25 everyday on the school run (we're near Heathrow sandwiched between the A3 & M3) and the days it's moving above 40 are less frequent than the days it's moving at less than 40 in at least one direction!

Hi Hotcha - Godalming is not too far away at all from Woking only about 20 mins if you drive. How old are your children?

My oh loves Godalming and would like to move there one day!

I hope we are not suggesting meeting up in Ikea but some other ideas would be good ...Anyone any suggestions?

Report
ChunkyMonkeysMum · 16/10/2009 15:45

God no, no meet-ups in Ikea !!!
