I honestly never though that would excite as much, but wow!!! I just got a lump in my throat and I'm not a particularly sporty person! My kids will be old enough then to enjoy it so it's fab news!

I'm suprisingly excited too It's so nice to have moments these days when you can be proud to be British.

After Mr Chiraq's comments about the Brits this week I can't help but feel a little smug that we beat Paris too.

Sorry Teavee....just in response to M Chirac's comments this week...........
He sort of set himself up for a fall, didn't he?

Yes at least Chirac won't have to worry about dreadful British cuisine when he gets to Gleneagles....I bet he has lost his appetite...

Wow theres a surprise (NOT)

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:59

Almostanangel,

Chirac deserves it. Not all of the french nation of course, but I think it's morally imperative to villify Chirac

On a more sober note, I shall spare a thought for those french mums everywhere currently posting their disappointment on the french equivalent of the Mumsnet talk boards...
