Why won't Jordan just name her rapist?

Why do women feel embarrassed of it? Why do they feel they must protect the rapist?

Because she saw how much attention Ulrika got when she wouldn't name and shame John Leslie and she wants to get her face on yet more front covers.
Why mention it at all? Why let on that it was a celebrity that raped her if she won't say who?
There is nothing that woman won't use to boost her profile.
Can't stand her.

Totally agree ginnny.

I reckon his name will be out within the next few days as the press and several camera crew know who she has named.

same as Urika, she wants to drag out the pubricity

I don't think embarrassment is an emotion that Jordan is too familiar with. And I don't think protecting her rapist is the reason he hasn't named him. Just milking the situation for all it's worth in an attempt to negate some of the bad press attention she has received lately. Hence the timing of these revelations too.

Just to add I'm not questioning the truth of her allegations....no one but Jordan and her alledged rapist could know that. I am just very cynical with regards to the timing of these revelations and what purpose they serve.

because the press will end up humiliating her?

Because they will blame her for it?

Can you imagine being held to trial in the court of public opinion over this?

She wants the press to pay beg for it!

Mind, I do want to know she has said it!

I think she is just using the situation to justify her boyfriends part in that movie he done. I saw a little clip yesterday where she had called into that programme on Channel 5.

Instead of actually taking about the experience and maybe giving some advice that might help other women, she just went on about her boyfriend. She was asked why she would not name the person and gave flimsy excuses like she didn't think it would be such a big deal when she broke the news etc. I am sure she said it had happened twice too.....was busy in the house and not paying 100% attention so I could be wrong on that.

It was also put to her that to end speculation and to stop the finger being pointed at innocent men, that she should spill the beans and she just refused.

I'm not doubting that she was raped. I feel sorry for anyone who has been through this.
But I can't see any other reason for her bringing it out into the open now. Apparently it happened years ago and she has moved on from it, so why bring it up now?
For the publicity - she is desperately trying to promote her new show and get more column inches than Peter Andre

Yes Dittany I agree. However, I also think that Jordan is a person who a lot of (especially young) people look up to and aspire to and if she is going to talk about these things out of the blue, she is in a prime position to be able to speak about it in a way that may help others. Not saying she should have done that, only that she could have done that.

Her saying words to the effect of "oh, it was years ago, it's not a big deal", I think, reinforces that this type of thing can be brushed under the carpet which is a real shame.

I do have sympathy for her being raped.

If it was a vicious rape (or any rape) and it allegedly happened twice she should be naming him.

I'm not saying that is the victims job to help other women but if speaking out stops it happening to anyone else surely thats a good thing.

Katie Price has had lots of 'famous' boyfriends in the past (Gareth Gates, Dwight Yorke, Dane Bowers to name a few) and I don't think its fair that some of these men will be getting attention and fingers pointing by the public when they have done nothing wrong.

Apparently she did name him when filiming her Tv show, but it was cut and the film crew who heard have been ordered to secrecy. Well, according to The Sun anyway (not necessatily a credible source I know!)

Report
MorrisZapp · 17/09/2009 15:26

But if she did name him we'd be none the wiser, as he hasn't been charged and he's innocent until proven guilty.

Without charges and a trial (which she would have been v unlikely to win even when it happened, never mind now) all she'd be doing is calling somebody a rapist and having half the nation hate her for saying that about their beloved celebrity, whoever it is.

FWIW if she's says she's been raped I believe her. If she gives the guy's name, I believe her.

But millions wouldn't.

why do you need to know?

Maybe you mean 'why doesn't she go to the police and report it'?

Report
potplant · 17/09/2009 15:36

Because why announce it free when OK will pay her to tell.

Report
Fleabie · 17/09/2009 15:44

WELL i think some of the Attitudes on here are why she wouldn't report it.

the thing is with rape its one persons word against another.

just because she strips off etc doesn't mean she deserves tp be raped or was asking for it

and if less then 5% of rape cases resul;t in convition she probably thought the ordeal of a trial would be like reliving it

i strongly object to her words of taking it on the chin.
somepeople would read into that woman should suck it up.

she has seen a few of footballers too

If you're not going to go to the police about it and get it dealt with properly, you can't really go about accusing people in the media.

She should go to the police and end this circus Apparently everyone in teh media knows who it is why the hell does her circus of a life make the papers. It is not news it is a violent crime yet she is still trying to make £ from it and get publicity.Vile and insensitve

Report
Fleabie · 17/09/2009 15:51

why should she HAVE to go to the police, if she has less than 5% chance of getting a conviction?

its not upto you what she does

Report
potplant · 17/09/2009 15:51

I don't think anyone on here anyway is suggesting that she deserves.

FWIW - I believe her, BUT I doubt very much that her motivation for mentioning it now is a quest for justice.

She makes her living out of selling her life to magazines and papers.
