Went to GP this morning and NO CANCER

There were NO Growths or TUMORS or slipped disc.

We still don't know what is causing the pain

He is to keep going with Gabapentin and Dicofenac drugs for another month to keep the pain under control

In a months time GP will refer him to Neurologist for further investigation

We are so relieved and the GP was too he has done a good job

THANK YOU FOR SENDING ALL THE POWER OF MUMSNET TO SUPPORT US DURING LAST FEW WEEKS.

YOU GUYS ARE DEFFO BRILL

Hve been looking out for this as my DH has had back trouble for years (he is 30 now) and has had to have 2 operations on his lower discs (involving shaving the disc). He has been laid up for the last 3 weeks (went back into work mon) with similar pain again to your DH. My DH is now seeing an acupuncturst and having physio to see if that will calm it down, before haivng and MRI scan (will cost us megabucks so we don't want to rush in - waiting list for mri here at least 6 mths).

Glad to hear your DH is ok!

x

RTKangamummy atm he is taking an anti-inflammatory and a painkiller. The painkiller is v strong (same one as prescribed after his op) and most evenings now he sits on the sofa totally out of it. Can't remember their names.

I worry tho that the tablets are just masking the pain and then he thinks he cam do more than he actually can, cos the next day he is back to square 1 again.

I have no sympathy this time round. I know that sounds harsh but if he had carried on his exercises given to his after each op he wouldn't be like this now.
