Dd2 seems to have had a relapse

Some of you may remember that last year dd2 was reffered to the hospital because she was lethargic all the time, and dealthy pale. After blood tests which revealed slightly low iron reserves and lots of poking and prodding they basically said that it was probably post viral fatigue syndrome , although it was rare in a child of her age.

Anyway, it has returned with avengance. Dd looks like the walking dead, so pale and lifless, keep complaining that her legs ache and is soooo tired again.

So do i take her back again for another round of tests with no conclusion or just fill her up with Minadex and hope that it passes.
She was like it from March to Julyish last year.

Would feel awful putting her though more blood tests for nothing,but then at the same time, what if ???

Oh and her lips are a really deep purply blue colour, not sure if that is her asthma playing up or what.

Do you think Misdee ?? I mean i am not as worried as last time cos she did eventually get better but at the same time am thinking 'is this gonna happen every year' ??

Might get her some Minadex first and see how she goes, plus i wanna see how she does with school, if they notice a prob then i'll take her straight back.

We actually cancelled her last appointment on the 15th of this month because she seemed to be fine.

She has recently had a cold, and her asthma has been playing up but you can just see now by looking at her that she look drained and tired.

She goes to bed no later than 8 even in the hols so she can't be tired.

No they aren't blue, it is hard to describe they are sort of a claret colour. Well actually at the mo they look normal.

No they are not blue, is so hard to explain, i need a colour chart LOL. They are sort of like a claret, deep berry colour, which is not the normal colour of her lips.

Don't worry if they were blue i would be at the hospital asap.

It's not all the time either, for example at the mo her lips are normalish colour and she seems quite awake for her. The dark lips does seem to coincide with her feeling tired though.

Just googled pvfs and bits of it fit and bits don't so not sure about that.

Is her tongue normal colour?

Dd gets blue lips, purpley-blue, and we were told nothing to worry about as long as her tongue is a normal colour. Having said that though, along with the others symptoms you should get her checked out.

Oh no didn't think you were ggg. She is 5 and the last spell lasted about 6mths ish when we sat and thought about it. She seemed to recover in about may/june ish time and has been pretty much fine since then up until the last week.

She is having her asthma meds assessed next week so i will bring it up then, plus ring the docs hospital and get back in there.

Her tongue is a normal colour, but then so are her lips at the mo.

Just discovered she hasn't had much to drink again today though which i think wasn't helping last time.
I often do her a drink and she tips it away, am gonna have to start making her sit and drink it.

If this happened the same time of year last year too, could it be allergies? My dd was very lethargic for two springs running when we were in the US, the Doc there eventually put it down to allergies (pollen) and gave her a low dosage anti-histimine and nose spray, which did the trick - she now takes them every spring. She has not had one of the lethargic spells since. Worth a thought (try Googling it?)

We had a great Ped Doc when we were there who always seemed to hit the nail on the head when she did diagnose anything for my two - hadn't even given 'allergies' a thought - apprarently its quite common to have these sort of reactions to the massive ammounts of pollen etc in the air in Spring - when the amounts level off in the summer they start to feel better hth
