Have any of you made that unicorn cake? How did you do the horn?

If you google unicorn cake, 90% of the image results are of a white unicorn cake with a gold horn and flowers / buttercream mane. I reckon I could have a reasonable attempt at it for dd's birthday - but I cant work out how to do the horn. I could spray an ice cream cone gold, but the thick twisted gold horn is much better. Any ideas?

I've always assumed it's just a roll of sugarpaste sprayed gold. Maybe flower paste which sets harder...

I think it’s probably a block of fondant icing rolled into a sausage and then wound round something rigid for support. Then painted with edible gold paint at a guess?

I appreciate you probably have higher standards than me, but I’d use a decorative candle - the twisty ones that go on a dinner table......

I've made a few. I've use two or 3 kind of cone shape lengths of sugar paste then twisted them together to make the horn. Start with a golden colour like autumn leaf then spray with golden lustre. There are tutorials on YouTube x

Lots of YouTube videos are helpful for this. I rolled out fondant/sugarpaste into a long sausage shape - thick at one end and getting thinner to the other end then wound around a damp skewer with the thin end at the top. If you can then put the skewer into florist foam or similar to let the fondant/sugarpaste dry for a couple of days. Then paint with gold edible paint (Amazon!).

I spray painted gold. I admit I did the horn last and was a bit fed up by then so it's not the best!
