Sugar free banana muffins?

Does anyone have a recipe for sugar free banana muffins? I assume it's possible to sweeten them naturally with mashed banana but the only recipes I've found online add agave syrup or similar.

I've made savoury muffins before which we've liked so clearly muffins can work without sugar, but I'm not confident enough to improvise as I don't bake often.

Thanks in anticipation Smile

My banana bread/muffin recipe is sugar free - like you say just add a bit more mashed banana. I use almond flour rather than ordinary flour as I think it has a better texture and a bit of sweetness? I do add 25gs of dates though as well as 100gs of blueberries - but at least it is refined sugar free!

Evewasinnocent I'd love the recipe please if you could share it? Unfortunately due to allergy I can't include nuts though.

Stilllivinginazoo - I'll do that thanks. Had only done a Google search rather than MN.

Sorry have been baking after being inspired by your post. This is the recipe (though we halved the amounts above today as only two of us in!). I have a thermomix so do get the mixture very smooth - so you don't know there are any dates - before adding the blueberries at the end - but any food processor will do I think. I don't think it matters though to mix by hand:

440g flour
335g (minimum) bananas mashed (about 4?)
25gs dates (chop as finely as possible - I sometimes also sneak in a dessert spoon of molasses as well)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp of vanilla paste
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
100gs of blueberries
4 eggs
95g butter (or coconut oil) - melted (but cooled)

Turn oven on to gas mark 4 (180 degrees)

I think you are supposed to put dry ingredients all together in a bowl (except blueberries) and then mix in the wet ingredients - but I just put them all together and mix until blended! You can then stir in all the blueberries or pour into muffin tin and then just add some blueberries on the top.

Bake for about 25 minutes and if a skewer comes out dry then they are ready - if not bake a bit longer!

DH is on the MM blood sugar diet and so we are used to no refined sugar in our diet - but they definitely aren't sweet - but they he likes them and feels he is able to have his cake and eat it !

Sorry I should have said if doing by hand then mix dry ingredients together in one bowl - and mix wet ingredients together in a separate bowl - then blend and mix the wet into the dry until fully mixed!
