Christmas day breakfast ideas?

Due to a combination of events, I will it seems, for the first time, be doing Christmas dinner myself this year for myself, DH and DD. It's actually a relief to be home most of the day. However I think we will have to go to see my family late morning until early afternoon so probably won't be able to start cooking dinner until about 3pm, so hoping to have Christmas dinner ready for about 5pm-ish (early enough for us to be able to eat with DD who will be 15 months then). I was thinking maybe about doing a brunch thing in the morning to tide us over until then? However as I'm doing lots of cooking in the afternoon I don't want to spend loads of time cooking in the morning as well (nor have loads of washing up). I was thinking of maybe something like pancakes? It's also complicated slightly by the fact that I'm veggie and DH and DD are not. Any other ideas?

We're going to have waffles probably some plain ones with bavon and maple syrup and some gingerbread ones too.

Croissants and pains au chocolat here normally. Last year I made cinnamon buns the night before and left them in the car to rise slowly overnight (no room in the fridge) and just baked them in the morning.

we do various things over the Christmas period

• pancakes with nutella/fruit/squirty cream (for the kids!)
  
• pastries - croissants/pain au choc/cinnamon rolls (really easy to make on Christmas eve & bung in the oven in the morning)
  
• smoked salmon & scrambled eggs
  
• panettone (toasted)
  
• Christmas (orange & cranberry) muffins

We normally have pain au choc and fruit but I'm thinking about doing swedish cinnamon buns this year as they are made the day before and left to prove overnight so easy to bung in the oven in the morning.

We do French toast and bucks fizz orange juice.

If you don't want to cook then I defo suggest pan au chocolait, croissants, some nice fruit, bit of nice ham and cheese if you're that way inclined. But smoked salmon and scrambled eggs doens't take much cooking and is yummy.

I made these last year and they were delicious. I made them in foil trays a few weeks ahead and then froze. Defrosted on xmas eve and just bunged in oven on xmas morning. Dh also took a tray in to work as I made too many and they have been requested again this year

I used to do Nigella's xmas morning muffins which are also lovely.

Usually croissants with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. But we also have pain au chocolat for ds. This year I'm considering adding Cinnamon swirls/buns.
