Pasta and bake should not be used in the same sentence.

I suppose it could have been much worse.

You could have included Tuna in there.

Ok, you can come out from the naughty corner now.Grin

melt knob of butter, stir in tablespoon of flour so it looks like puke, add milk a splash at a time and keep stirring. Handful of cheese, possibly some veg if you're feeling healthy.

Fry off onions, add herbs, tin of tomatoes, veg and tbsp tomato puree. Simmer for 30 mins

skint pidj can't afford posh ready made sauces

I love pasta bake. Never understood why people are snooty about lasagne Grin

I have a lovely recipe for a tuna one, which involves cream of celery soup and a packet of crisps from a student cookbook.

lasagne is not a pasta bake.
Pasta bake is rank. Lasagne is perfect.
Lasagne you start off to create. Pasta bake is leftovers.

I love a pasta bake. Is much tastier if you call it penne al forno though. Can't go wrong with bunging in some ricotta cheese and a tin of tomatoes.

DH has just started putting crisps on top of everything baked alibaba and he was never a student. Will have to tell him its a student thing so that he stops.

I used to do a pasta bake type thing which involved a tin of Campbell's mushroom soup and tuna. It was damn good. I might resurrect it.

I've never understood the crisp thing really, unless the thinking is that a bag of crisps is cheaper than cheese?

I might have to disown you now Chaos...

Sure, pasta sauce in a jar has it's place (on the shelf).

I'll have to write you out a Nonna special sauce recipe
