Anyone else seen it? Great acting, even from the woman who cannot really act.

Can't act: Julia Roberts
Too pervy in this to be gorge: Clive Owen

Oh do go and see it, you won't regret it even if you hate it (that will only make sense if you go to see it!)

I went to see it with a girlfriend so we could freely laugh (and parts of it are hysterical). When I told dh about it I said shades of "Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf?" and then my dh told me its by the same director.

Oh its far from naff, its quite heavy in parts and quite uncomfortable in parts and completely watchable all through. You hang on every word. I can't say anymore now until you've all seen it as I don't want to spoil it for you.

DH refuses to see this as he says too heavy and cold. He wants to see Clint Eastwood's film about the girl boxer which I refuse to see.
It'll have to be Meet The Fokkers then...!

I saw the play too, it was gripping, does it do the play justice?

Hmmm difference of opinion here. Thought it was pants. Clive Owen was the best in it by a long shot and Julia Roberts was true to form for me (ie: wooden). No chemistry between any of the actors - not good in a 'love' story.

I was wondering about going to see this tonight. What kind of genre is it? Dh is an awful intellectual and sometimes I find stuff he enjoys too slowwwwwww

Davros, I think your dh may change his mind when he sees Natalie Portman in a g-string.
Strawberry, I think its more of a "power" story.

Ha! Today he said he hadn't refused, but he had..... He's put me off it now though, does sound rather serious.

I saw it last night. Fantastic film. Darkly funny and sad I think. Laughed out loud quite a bit. Sad for bits. Wonderful film. Clive was gorgeous in the lunch scene near the end. He was rather rough looking (in an almost sexy way) throughout. Brilliant acting by him. Definitely deserved the Globe, hope he gets the Oscar. I think blokes can enjoy this film too, even though I went with a couple of girlies. Lots of blokes there that laughed and seemed to really enjoy it.
