Can someone please recommend a good sports bra...

That will last and won't make my boobs sore?

I'm a runner and currently wear a Nike sports bra but it gets washed 5 times per week so I think it may be losing it's effect. I've noticed my boobs really hurting after exercise and it's not hormonal.

I'm a size 32D and need something that is high impact.

I have just got a Freya one and it is amazing, I am a 30f and it holds me brilliantly

Lots of people swear by shock absorber sports bras but i prefer Panache ones. I wear a 34g so need a lot of support and can't fault them.

Freya active underwired and panache underwired are the 2 types I use - 36GG

I bought the Panache underwired one after recommendations on MN, I've had it about 2 months and it is really good. I bought 34G as all the reviews said true to size but I have found the cup a little big.

I love the shock absorber ultimate run. Although I get one size down on cup and a size up on band. So normally I'm a 34E but I get a 36D in these. You have to clasp them at the back because of the racer back bit that you need to put your head through. Sometimes that's a pain. But once on, there's absolutely no bounce. And they come in lots of different colours.

I also recommend shock absorber ultimate. My boobs are more humble than yours, but I feel totally secure. I've tried nike, reebok and sweaty betty in the past and none of them are any good. You should definitely notice an improvement with the shock absorber.

I'm a 30ff and have a number of sports bras- my favourites are the Freya and Panache for high impact. For cycling I have a Berlei which is lovely to wear but not for high impact, and I quite like the m&s zip front sports bras for short runs.
eBay can be a great source of sports bras as people buy them, wear them once and decide they don't like them

The Minimal Bounce Bra from Dans-ez.com is excellent!

I have a Shock Absorber and a Panache. Much prefer the Shock Absorber. The SA come up small, the Panache come up big on the cup. Definitely worth trying on. M&S sports bras are good too, they come in a range of impacts.

Another vote for the ShockAbsorber. My norks are huge, and I manage to do 3 hours of high impact aerobics every week. Mind you, when I first get them, I can hardly breathe they're so tight!
I get them at Bravissimo so they DO fit me. Just take a while to 'wear in'.

Shock Absorber level 4.

Nothing comes close apart from the Enell front loader.

It's not recommended to wear anything with wires for running.

I love Shock Absorber generally, but hate the Run bra.

If you have only one sports bra but wash it 5 times a week, does that mean you're putting them in the tumble drier? Tumble driers/heat are bad for the elastic so will be damaging it. You'd be better having at least 2 and rotating them, so you have time for them to air dry and recover their shape.

I have 6, all Shock Absorber level 4s in various colours from the discount outlet centre.

Shock absorber are fab. I have a panache one that normally is too big that I'm wearing at the moment as put on a bit of weight so boobs have gone huge, and it's good, but shock absorber ultimate run would be my go to. Holds everything down and doesn't dig in or anything.

Sounds weird/icky but don't wash it after every run. I wash after 5 or 6 runs.

Panache all the way (32e) but I'd size down on the cup

Wow thank you every one! I'm going to take a look at these.

Currently have two Nike ones, one much newer so tend to wear that on a longer run and the older on a short route (probably a psychological thing)! I don't tumble dry if I can help it but sometimes have to. Luckily they seem to dry quite quickly anyway.

Sport is expensive! Just also had to splash out on new trainers at £100 a pair.

thenightsky can I ask why underwire is not recommended for running please?

I have only just started running this week and bought a high impact bra which I have worn once but it is underwired. I have quite large boobs and it seemed comfy and nothing really moved!

The Enell with the hook and eyes up the front is the absolute dog's. Nothing else comes close to it. Sadly, after 2 kids, its services are no longer required as my Es are now B's (being generous). After Ennell, Shock Absorber 4.
