New free Https compliant html templates ebay selling

As I have had to remove some of my images to make them compliant with new Google/Chrome rules I am looking for ( free) alternatives.
Any suggestions? I was using Sellercore.

The title does spammy, but assuming you are being genuine, https is a security setting on your server, not a type of template.

Sorry I agree that looking at the title it does sound spammy- I am looking for information, not selling anything.

HTML image templates aren't a thing, well not in the sense that you mean. I've looked on Ebay, and what you need to do is make sure that any content (images, etc.) which you calling in from a third party location are using https in the url to show they are stored on a secure server. If you are selling your own stuff why do you need third party images, can't you just take a photo and upload it to your own webspace with the server set to use https, then use that url?

And to be honest, using someone else's free images to sell something seems a bit dubious.

No, it's not for images, I obviously photograph my own products, it's for the product description page, headers, footers, borders, themes etc.

That is uploaded in html format- ebay have a page for this on the item description section.

Sorry- I didn't make that clear.

It;s not images as in photos, it's other embellishments for the product description page. For instance if you are selling Christmas decorations you can embellish the product description page with a cartoon holly border for instance.
It's these " images" that I need.

If any of those things are images, then the same applies, upload them to your own server. Surely, any text isn't being called in from somewhere else? I've never sold anything on Ebay but don't you type it into a box when you create the listing?

I write my own text, and yes these are images in the manner that I describe- a holly border surrounding my text for instance.

ebay have a facility to upload these when listing to make the description page more appealling.
I can't write html so need to find from a 3rd party.

It's nothing to do with writing HTML, the url of the image needs to be,for example, 'yoursite.com/image.png' not 'yoursite.com/image.png'. The https bit comes from the server the image is stored on it's not something you write, you don't need to write anything.

I've just started selling on eBay and I used a nice template that compliments my logo but within a couple of days I had the email saying can't be used anymore.

I'm guessing you have already been using border etc? If so, you do the same as you already are, but with an image on a secure server.

Ok I think I understand. I was using a third party called Sellercore, but they have not upgraded their site to https, so seems I can't use their templates until they become compliant.

Okay, if I'm understanding this, you use a template to display your listing? And the people who provide that are not compatible with https?
Is this something that's hosted away from Ebay, or do you upload it to Ebay?

But I guess it costs money for these 3rd parties to go through the compliance procedure. There do seem to be some compliant sites, but all want ££££s.

I've just had a look and it seems you get the template code and paste it into Ebay and it includes images which are hosted somewhere else?

If that's the case, you need to either store the images yourself and change the urls in the template, or replace the images with your own images? It might be a bit faffy, but it's not difficult to swap urls. Just use search/replace to find the original ones and then switch them for the new ones. Get something like Notepad++ and use the s/r tool.

Also, it's a good idea to learn HTML so you aren't relying on a free third party for precisely this reason. Also, you have to trust their code is secure in other ways and there's nothing nasty lurking in it.

Not if they're hosted on a reputable site, it's a very simple server setting. I'd be very wary of using any site that wasn't using https, especially now because it's been around for years. Even if they do update it still suggests they are bit, umm, out of touch.

It sounds as though Ebay is phasing third party stuff out, which makes sense because it could be a massive security breach.

OK spoken to ebay, they have told me simply to add an "s" to the end of the html code.
Which works.

Sounds like a bodge to me, but I'm happy in the short term.

I would hope that if ebay are planning to get rid of external custom templates they would increase their own inhouse tools.
