eBay

Buyer wants to return item because 'it doesn't fit'

Buyer has very politely emailed to say sorry but could she return the coat as although it is her usual size it is a bit too big. Am tempted to say ffs just wear it!

I only accept returns if faulty or not as described. It clearly says so on the listing. WIBU to say sorry but I don't refund just because you've changed your mind? Or should I suck it up as a goodwill gesture?

We've already bloody left each other feedback.

just refuse the refund. She has no right to expect a refund and she has already left you feedback so you have nothing to worry about.

If she's already left feedback id tell her to man up, she can't change the feedback, and who leaves feedback before at least trying on an item?!

I do feel a bit mean saying no but she could always relist it herself couldn't she?

I've told her I can't accept it back. I'll wait for the fallout.

you cannot refuse a return regardless of what terms you want to impose - she can just open a case now and ebay will force you to refund.

No way- not unless you said it was a 12 and it's actually a 14 or something. I have bought clothes on ebay that just didn't look right when I tried them on- I just relisted them (and sometimes made a profit!)

How can she open a case? Wouldn't there have to be a specific fault?

she can just say not as described and say it doesn't fit - any feedback she may have left is totally irrelevant.

lavender is completely correct, she can open a case. It's all well and good saying "refuse the refund" but an unscrupulous buyer can find a fault and file not as described. I'd be worried about buyer putting a hole in the coat and filing personally.

At least you get the coat back in one piece.

Oh bless her, she's just emailed to say sorry but she hadn't seen the returns on the listing and she'll relist it herself. My faith in ebayer buyers is restored. Smile

Well she seems like a decent buyer then. You could offer to let her use your photos to save her the trouble.

I'm not sure that's a good idea. I was after a bike a while back, was priced out of a first auction and then saw a second auction from a different seller for an identical model of bike. Was going to bid on the second auction but then saw that they'd used the photos from the first auction. That put me off.

It's only a coat and it's the very same coat as in the original photos. I don't see a problem. I would let someone use mine if they were re listing my item although I wouldn't like people to use my photos or descriptions otherwise.

She's taken lots of new photos which aren't as nice as mine but she's copied the same description.

I was in two minds as to whether to sell the coat in the first place. It was a lovely coat in a gorgeous colour but I just found myself wearing other coats so much that it seemed daft to keep hold of it. And then I nearly get it back!
