The mystery scientific advisory body

ah yes, the great scientist with his guidance on herd immunity. We need the names of everyone on Sage, and have access to the minutes and recommendations. Otherwise, the entire approach by UK government stating that they are 'following the science' is a complete travesty. They have blood on their hands.

QueenBlueberries hear hear.

Cummings advise to Johnson.
Stay at home and hide then they can’t blame you.

Selmaselma Fri 24-Apr-20 19:38:59

Most probably he was/is in charge of handling the crisis on social media. But obviously, as long as it isn't Corbyn all is well.

Frownette Fri 24-Apr-20 19:40:44

What on earth is he doing there?

TheLastSaola Fri 24-Apr-20 19:40:51

He's the chief advisor to the prime minister. Of course he's one of the 23 attendees.

SquishySquirmy Fri 24-Apr-20 19:41:15

Ohhhh shit....

EmpressMcSchnozzle Fri 24-Apr-20 19:44:58

The Great Archon is evidently the puppetmaster behind the PM - notice how quiet it was while he was self-isolating? I could say I don't have any idea how he wheedled his way into such a position of power, but if anything was enough to make me believe in Dark Forces, it's this! (Eat your heart out, Grima Wormtongue....)

vera99 Fri 24-Apr-20 19:47:22

Here's one he prepared earlier. If I was Boris I would ask for my money back whilst simultaneously smashing him in the face.

Stroller15 Fri 24-Apr-20 19:48:54

He really shouldn't have been there. I appreciate both Chris Whitty and Patrick Valance bringing attention to it and saying it shouldn't be secretive. I hope they agree political advisers should not have been there.

This site says you can see scientific advice SAGE are relying on, but if you keep following the links it takes you to this page with no scientific evidence available at all.

Humphriescushion Fri 24-Apr-20 19:52:18

Oh really? Is this a joke?

pontypridd Fri 24-Apr-20 19:55:07

Not a joke - sadly.

Bloody hell! The gov advisors have been driving my a bit mad but now.....

pontypridd Fri 24-Apr-20 20:00:19

Will he be taken off now that it's public knowledge?

It’s a scientific advisory group. Cummings would have his chance to tell Johnson what he thinks of their recommendations and what he should or shouldn’t agree to. No way should Cummings be in the room for discussions.

Eeyoresstickhouse Fri 24-Apr-20 20:02:29

angry is all I can really say to this. Cummings is just evil.

dillydallyshillyshally Fri 24-Apr-20 20:03:11

*Cummings advise to Johnson.
Stay at home and hide then they can’t blame you.*

You mean, 'stay in your second home'. Unlike the proletarian scum, obviously.

DettolDaiquiri Fri 24-Apr-20 20:09:23

One of the other members is in my university faculty and if they're involved in the decision making I'm a lot more scared than I was before. It certainly helps to explain why the government's handling of the crisis has been such an utter shit show. I can't imagine for one second that they would put up any opposition to anything someone with Cumming's power would say.

YangShanPo Fri 24-Apr-20 20:13:46

I see he is doing the science now.

nellodee Fri 24-Apr-20 20:16:27

Are we surprised?

Is it only me who thinks Boris can't really do without his Cummings, because well he'd be lost? Isn't it that Cummings got into such a position of power because Johnson is so incapable, and so has to rely on someone for thinking? It is Cummings that is our real PM, is not not?
