What on Earth is up with everyone? Is isolation making people crazy?

I went for a walk with my baby and there was a guy with his ten year old son both walking towards us from the opposite direction. I veered to the right so he can have the left hand side of the path but instead he charged at me and stood right in front of my pram with his arms spread out almost challenging me to do something... then he walked off. Once the bizarreness of it all wore off I've just realised what an imbecile he is!

These are the people that think social distancing is nonsense and so you moving aside has enraged him. Give it no more thought. He’s just your archetypal moron.

Next time, wave a cape at him and stick a spear in him. Ole!

How unnecessary and confrontational...especially as you have your baby in the pram. Idiot!

I was in the supermarket the other day, and as I was walking towards the end of an aisle, a man jumped out and pretended to sneeze on me...then burst out laughing. I initially looked behind me as assumed he was playing a joke on a mate. I had my headphones in, so I took them out...he was still laughing and saying “oh I don’t think you can make jokes like that anymore”. He’s lucky I’m pretty easy going; I know my mum would have gone ape sh*t at him!

@TheEndIsBillNighy what on Earth! People like that won't realise the seriousness of this till it hits its peak sadly. I'd go mad on a normal day if someone pretended to sneeze on me but in this climate, it's not just gross but irresponsible

An adult man charging at a woman, with or without a baby, would be threatening behaviour in the best of times. What an arsehole. I think he probably was annoyed that you moved out of the way for social distancing purposes, which makes him an angry buffoon as well as an arsehole.

I was in the freezer section in Tesco early the other morning, it was nice and quiet. There was a woman in the aisle wearing a uniform of cotton top/trousers with the name the local hospital trust on it (we are very near a large hospital with a high number of cases). No idea if she was a HCP or support staff as I don't know what sort of uniform it was. I waited for her to come out so we didn't have to pass each other, and she made a beeline to walk as closely to me as she could, when there was plenty of space all around. It was just so bizarre, I stepped a few steps back to get out of her way and she gave me a big smirk as she walked past. I'm not normally shy of confrontation but I was so gobsmacked I didn't say anything. People are idiots.

Ohffs66
I’d have had to follow her, take her picture and send it to the local hospital complaints department, along with an email explaining what she did. She sounds extremely unprofessional. The fact that she was in the supermarket in her uniform would be enough to get her disciplined at our Trust anyway.

As he is potentially murdering you I wonder if killing him with a stun gun is legitimate self defence?

@Ohffs66 and @missyB1

How can you prove she wasn't on her way to work with a new uniform on?

Yeah there seems to be two groups of people at the moment.

Group 1: taking it seriously and doing everything they can to help i.e. social distancing, staying at home, wearing a mask etc when out and about.

Group 2: think it's a big joke and that anyone doing the above is a plonker and must be goaded and made fun of as much as possible.

I deliver food parcels to our more vulnerable families and the other day I was attacked whilst doing so. 3 Grown men dressed in black with their faces covered thought it would be funny to hurl abuse at me and throw plastic bottles my way because I was wearing a mask whilst stood outside the home of one of our children.

One of these forty something year old bright sparks thought he was inventive for saying I looked like a peacock with my mask one. I'd have expected better coming from the children I teach. Some who are as young as three...

I did report it to 2 PCSOs down the road but I doubt much will be done. We're too fucking soft in this country.

That’s ridiculous, especially as you had a pram with you. We seem to spend an awful lot of time crossing the road to avoid people on our daily walks - or ducking into driveways - but so far at least, have always had either no reaction or a nod of appreciation /thank you from the other party. I would not be impressed to be confronted with someone like that.

Confused I get the feeling some people like the power over other people by walking in their space, knowing they are afraid of the virus. Some people are weird nasty fucks like that.

@poppi89

At our local NHS trusts you can’t wear your uniform out of work full stop, pandemic or not. It’s basic cross contamination policy. Only NhS uniforms I see on the street are community nurses and they may have different protocols right now.
