2 ovulations 1month?

I'm confused -clearly!

Day 9 (immediately after my period) I tested positive for ovulation. Seemed early but my cycles have been a little off since I had the coil removed several months ago. Tests were negative after that.

Day 15 (today) the test is positive again. I did two to be sure.

Anyone with experience of this? We will DTD later regardless.

Are the lines on the tests as dark as each other?

Report
calimommy · 10/01/2020 15:53

Yes they were really dark. I've BTDT before so I'm confident of interpreting the tests but I haven't had multiple days of positives so that was why I was confused. Perhaps related to the end of my period on the 9th and this + yesterday was my true surge. 🤷‍♀️

Could it be possible you are pregnant if your cycle is a bit messed up. I had positive tests before AF and I got a BFP today

@Booona19 congratulations! Your first baby?

Anything is possible I suppose, but I had a significant 6 day period at the end of December so I feel like it's unlikely I'm pregnant this month already or enough to show up on anything. I don't 'feel' pregnant either -except for my boobs haha which are bigger but that's probably weight from Xmas, and usually I sort of know when I'm pregnant.

In researching my two surges this month, I learned that if you have a second surge a few days after the first one that you may not have ovulated the first time and your body triggered a second one. I'm not sure if that's true for me since my surges were on cd7 then again on cd22. Not saying that's the case for you, but your surges are a bit close.

This will be my third, my boobs were sore and bigger that's the only symptom I had really. I hope you get to the bottom of it, sorry I'm not more help x

@Booona19 good luck I hope it sticks!

@Swife that's interesting thank you. I suspect you could be correct. I've always had fairly regular cycles in the past and ovulated when I was 'supposed' to so I was a bit thrown.

@calimommy NP🙂. I know what it's like to have your body go weird, when every month is normally predictable, and have a great sense of need to find out what could be happening. I'm in that very state right now so I'm in strong research mode😊

Update: sent a message to my OBGYN and going off of my pregnancy history and following my normal cycle of 28-29 days, I'm technically late.
I have to go in tomorrow and get a blood pregnancy test, then another one on Wednesday and then a sonogram on Thursday. I also have to take 200mg of progesterone vaginally, every 8 hrs until we figure out if I'm pregnant or not.

@Swife fingers crossed. The progesterone is a bit mucky haha

@calimommy k so I went worried about my cycles and came out with a referral to have a colonoscopy done 😒. Let me explain 😁.

I noticed some black tarry substance in my poop(TMI SRY😔) and my OBGYN is worried the my Endometriosis is flaring up and since it can dump blood ANYWHERE in the body, she wants to be sure it didn't go there and she wants to check for other causes of old blood being there.

So I did do a complete blood to check for pregnancy as well as my Progesterone levels(because the older we get the lower our progesterone gets). Since I'm 38 my strange cycle the past 2 and now may be due to low Progesterone. So she up'ed it from 200 to 400mg every day instead of on cd13-25.

I call tomorrow for my results and then go back Wednesday for a sonogram so that she can check to make sure I don't have any cysts(I had that when she first met me and then quickly diagnosed me with Endometriosis).

It would be nice to hear I gotta go back to check my HCG levels 🤞🏽.

@Swife oh fine thanks ha just waiting to see if AF arrives, not sure when to expect it but I think I'm minimally 6days out if not 10.

That's a balls about the progesterone. I'm wondering myself if that could be at play with me. I have always managed to get pregnant easily but had a few losses as well, so the fact I've had a couple months when I would have expected to get pregnant and not become so, I'm wondering if something has changed in my body. 😬👎

Fingers crossed for your next blood draw and an increase in numbers!

UPDATE: I spoke with my OBGYN this morning. My Progesterone level is 24(she said it's in normal range and that if it was lower than 20 it would be a problem). I just read the my range is also normal if I just ovulate which would make since according to my crazy OPKS(it gave me two peaks).
According to the blood test, I'm not pregnant 😕.
All my other levels are good. She still wants me to take 400mg if Progesterone daily and to up my vitamin D3 from 10,000 to 15,000 for 3 months.
My pain is most likely Endometriosis pain. I have a sonogram tomorrow to look for any issues. Still must schedule a colonoscopy 😒.
Praying everyone else has good news 🤞🏽

Well a positive is that your progesterone levels are within normal limits. Have you been pregnant before? Good luck with the colonoscopy

@calimommy I'm glad for that. We'll have to see the sonogram to get a better picture of what's happening. Since age 22 I have been pregnant 4 times and no live births. One day, maybe.

Got some good news today. I had my sonogram done and, hooray!, my uterus is PERFECT! And I am, in fact, ovulating. I still need to schedule the colonoscopy but I'm good and just waiting for my AF to arrive so we can start again.
My doc feels like I went wonky because, in my depression from the last loss, I went off track with keeping my Endometriosis diet so this is a flare. I'm getting back on track TODAY!

I hope everyone one else is doing well in their journey as well.

@calimommy thanks ☺️. It's the not knowing what to expect that's all fun and exciting but annoying and anxiety raising all at the same time. Boy that roller coaster 😂. Pls let's keep each other posted. Sending baby dust 🧚🏽‍♀️!

After last months confusion re ovulation dates I've decided to test every day this month so I can get a definitive picture of what is going on. (Last month I stopped using OPK after the second +).
This month I started OPK testing on day 5 (the last day of my period) and had consistent negatives, which is what I would expect. Today I had a pretty strong positive so did a second test to confirm. I am on day 8 of my cycle which should be too early to ovulate?

@Swife how are you getting on? I've finally ovulated properly today so in for the TWW now. Tbh it's almost a relief sometimes once you ovulate and then the pressure is 'off' for that month.
