First timer. 10dpo urge to test!

Hi all.

This is mine and my partners first month of trying! I am 10dpo and tested at 2po and 8dpo (got BFN!!!) I now know that that was far too early! I'm now 10dpo and AF is due on fri/sat! Itching to test again but don't want to get disappointed!

Have sore boobs, bloating, nausea and can't stop eating but the symptoms are similar to AF symptoms!

Why does the mind play tricks on us 😔

Anyone else in the same situ?

Much love x

@Seli3025 It's a known as a First Response Early Response. I'm on 9dpo and sitting on my hands to stop me testing! Hoping to hold out till the weekend.

@NLouise123 thank you! Okay I never knew this existed! Is it supposed to be more sensitive than a normal test? I tested at 8dpo (silly me) with a clear blue test and came as BFN line!

Do you recommend an FRER then at 12dpo? Would I be able to find an FRER in boots or wilko?

I feel your pain about sitting on your hands 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ so nice to know there are others in same position though. Feel so lonely as can't speak to anyone but DP!

Xx

For my first and second pregnancies I got a BFP on 9dpo, my third I got a BFP on 10dpo. Needs to be a FRER though. Good luck 🤞

@Seli3025 Most would say to test on the day your AF is due or even a few days after if you're late, however, most can't wait that long. But I would say no earlier that 13/14 dpo. First response tests normally say early detections around 4 days before AF but it really does depend on your body. The basic rule is you're not out till AF arrives! The most popular FRER can be bought from Amazon. They will test early with IC (internet cheapies) and then closer to AF with FRER and if that showed positive then use a digital clear blue Xx

@NLouise123 thanks so much for this! Will test on 13/14dpo GrinI looked on amazon and the first response tests look like the ones that boots may sell too, so I may pop to boots end of the week! Gosh all this adrenaline is driving me crazy.

Hey sorry for the late reply yes the first response early result tests is best apparently, dont get it confused with the rapid response though if you get one i got mine off Amazon though where cheap and can buy a few. Just tomorrow to go then thursday morning i will test argh really wanted to today though but i talked my self out of it

@mrsc1987 no worries! Thanks I have googled and the FRER I hope you're all mentioning is in a pink box ??

Not long now!! Keep yourself super busy tomorrow if you can!! Fingers and toes crossed for Thursday!

I'm going to test Saturday if AF doesn't arrive and hopefully with an FRER it I can get my hands on one!

Just a little bit of advice. I see so many people posting Xdpo and they have symptoms. When you are pregnant symptoms often appear around 5-6 weeks as the hormones need to build up in your system. Some never experience any symptoms when pregnant, but had convinced themselves for months earlier that every small symptom means pregnancy.

I’m not trying to be negative, far from it, just try not to symptom spot as it will drive you crazy. Also because you are actively trying you are listening to your body more than ever, and some symptoms you may get normally around your AF but had not really paid much attention.

Anyway I have everything crossed for you, and everyone else waiting to test, I truly hope you all get your BFP!!!

@Seli3025 ooo, boots is the one place I haven't looked for tests yet! I've seen very cheap ones in Wilco's. I've bought some from Superdrug.

God ladies I feel your pain!! I haven't bought one for that reason I know I'll run home and do it! I'm convincing myself that only morning is effective! I'm trying to leave it until Sunday now, as I want to be sure AF isn't coming! Plus DP is away for work until weekend so want to be with him when we do it!

Driving me potty! Good luck ladies!

Good to know about storing it never knew this!
