Thread 25. TTC #1 - February Fertility Fighters on the FRONTLINE

(969 Posts)
AlexiaB Tue 31-Jan-17 17:40:22

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

25 26 in 9 days
Cycle 21
CD20, 8dpo - after another early mc. Hoping so much that this month will finally give me my sticky baby. We couldn't have tried harder!

Welcome all smile

Londonjam Tue 31-Jan-17 18:05:15

Thanks for the new thread alexia

I'm Jam
I'm 33
Cycle 14 (le sigh)
Day 27 - crunch point

Over a year in and never had a wink of a second line. Low morphology only known problem so far. Awaiting our first appointment at the hospital.

Gaelach Tue 31-Jan-17 18:08:11

Placemarking! Thanks for the new thread. And also male supplement recommendations!

Gaelach, 29
Cycle 6
CD28 and 13dpo.

LP has been 11 or 12 days previous cycles. I'm wondering if maybe I O'ed later than I thought?

sk1pper Tue 31-Jan-17 18:22:23

A new thread already? wow!

Age 29
TTC #1
Cycle 18...I think

Also, I thought I'd just pop onto boots and take advantage of the 3 for 2 offers Flash was talking about and I am shocked...literally shocked by the price of branded tests. I've only ever bought cheap opks and cheap pg test, there's never been any point, but I really did want to get some FRERs for this cycle.

£7.99 for one, I may as well get the twin pack for £10.49. If I get 3 for 2, that will give me six tests to piss on to my hearts content.

kwick Tue 31-Jan-17 18:32:17

Great job Alexia and Jam on new thread!!!

So this is moi:
TTC #1
Age: 42!!!!!! But I only admit to 21
As I am footloose and fancy free I have been using procured magic potion and from my first natural IUI in September 2015 until the last treatment I did in December 2016 I have done a total if 9 treatments. I got a BFP with first round of medicated IVF (try 6) but unfortunately MCed at 8 weeks, I am now 8 weeks preggers following a medicated IUI. I have numerous scans last week which eventually confirmed 1 egg sac, yolk, fetal pole and heartbeat. I am having another early scan next week to track growth.
I have some pretty strong opinions about what should be done on lead up to ovulation and what to do in TWW - happy to share. Also I have taken so many different supplements I have some fairly strong opinions on those too!
By rights I should be on the Grads thread but I am too scarred to leave this safe haven.

hep a mahoosive hug - you are in perfect time.

Flashinthepan Tue 31-Jan-17 18:41:45

New thread! So shiny. I almost don't want to write anything, like when you get a new notebook. No? Just me then blush.

So Flash is me.
Cycle 2ish
Acupuncturist today reckons cd 24 not 21 based on significance of spottinv at end of last cycle so either ovd day 10 or day 13.
11 DPO. Feeling pregnant but bfn and a bit of blood this morning made me freak out but you ladies saved me!

SnarkyGorgon Tue 31-Jan-17 18:44:32

Age 31
TTC #1
Cycle 14 (aargh!)
Cycle day 2

Hey ladies, I've finally found you again. I was around ages ago, but dropped off the face of the earth for a few months out of shear despair. Not a single BFP in all this time, though had implantation bleeding on Christmas Eve (the world is a cruel place).

DP went for an SA at the end of last year, all fine and dandy and I've had the ladies scanned -answers to be found there either. Everyone one I know seems to be spontaneously pregnant and feels the need to offer helpful helpful advice, coupled with the sorrowful head tilt.

Aaanyeho, Kwick that's such amazing news, congratulations! Really hope everything goes smoothly for you, I know it's been a hard road for you.

Hey sk1p Alexia and Jam sorry that you guys are still here, but good to see some familiar names. LSFX for you all

sk1pper Tue 31-Jan-17 18:50:35

Glad your back Snarky! New year, new possibilities my lovely xx

Peaches8Posies Tue 31-Jan-17 18:52:28

Started ttc Dec 2015
BFP feb/March 2016
Mc may 2016
Nothing since.

Place marking ladies.
flash hope you get answers soon. My oct/Nov cycle was like yours. Utterly convinced I was upduffed, even OH was too. Really hope it's implantation and you are pregnant.

Olivia Rose was on my list but my friend has taken it shock haha. Love Amelia at the moment. I worked with a girl Catherine/kitty for short. She was a lovely girl really suited her name. I also like isabella, eva/ava, Emily, but they have become fairly common in my small town. Would probably have to avoid for fear of my DC starting school with too many with the same name. So how's that for mad? Not even a bfp yet and I'm contemplating issues in the school classroom......blush.

Who is testing next? jam i don't test anymore either. Ignorance is bliss and all that halo. Who is doing our list? If we still have one I'll be testing about the 18th.

Really tired tonight but need to up my game OH wants to dtd and we really should but feel I've lost my dtd mono blush.

Peaches8Posies Tue 31-Jan-17 18:54:10

Welcome back snarky long time ttc is shit sad. We are due another spate of bfp's sof fx.

SnarkyGorgon Tue 31-Jan-17 18:59:21

Definitely Sk1p keep telling myself that last year was just a practice run!

Kathrino Tue 31-Jan-17 19:16:31

Welcome back Snarky, good to have you with us again.

Age: 33 (very young so the docs keep telling me...)
Cycle: 14
CD: 24, 8DPO

Nothing going on here at all. I swear, I have the most boring TTC cycles in the world. Never a hint of a symptom or a BFP.

In the process of initial tests at the fertility clinic, should know more in a couple of weeks and then we'll see what the next steps are.

Charley2016 Tue 31-Jan-17 19:17:22

Thanks for the new thread alexia.

Age: 25
TTC: #1
Cycle: 4
CD: 19
DPO: 4

I was loving the name chat! Olivia, Amelia. olive, liv were my top runners but just found out that my cousins pregnant and calling her Olivia! Which kind of rules out my other close ones like Amelia, Emilia etc! Quite like emme, romy and Mia though.

Boys are harder I think! I like max, Jacob, Jamie but think I want something a bit more unusual.

sk1pper Tue 31-Jan-17 19:34:17

OH and I have our names...this is how you know you've been trying for too long. sad

Roseandbee Tue 31-Jan-17 19:35:09

Hi all!
Age 33
Cycle: off bc since June 2014
CD 12, still waiting for a positive opk

Think ovulation is just round the corner now though as I get a lot of symptoms

Fx everyone

harrietm87 Tue 31-Jan-17 19:35:45

Wahey new thread!

harriet aged 30
Ttc#1 (of course) cycle #1
(Had a chemical on cycle 2 last Feb but had SUCH a long break after that I've been reborn as ttc virgin!)

I'm on CD25, only 5DPO. Think I timed my dtd pretty well so cautiously hopeful. Zero symptoms however (and have been prodding my poor boobs a lot as they were the giveaway last time!)

Londonjam Tue 31-Jan-17 19:38:18

Kathrino I'm 33 too, it's definitely young 👍🏼

Welcome back snarky sorry you're still trying. It's the pits isn't it. I like the idea of a practise run. Here's hoping it's our turn very soon

I think skipper has the most up to date list? Mine's a bit scrappy

I feel a bit brighter mood wise today which usually means progesterone is leaving the building envy

SmittenPears Tue 31-Jan-17 19:42:27

Hi again all!

Age: 32
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
CD: 34 (but pretty sure it will be CD1 any second now... sigh...)
DPO: 15

EJ2009 Tue 31-Jan-17 19:52:51

Hi all. Ive been just lurking thjs week.

Cycle 8
CD 13

Is it only me that doesnt like fertile week. I hate trying to unnaturally seduce my husband. Dtd was always a sexy moment between us and now its "come on love, the digital fave is grinning at me" ( actually its not as my ic go positive but my clearblue one doesnt).

Oohh baby names. I like this topic. Its getting tough as we are amongst the last to have kids so the names are being stolen. Boys - Sebastian or Hugo. Girls Indiana or Matilda.

CarleyColie Tue 31-Jan-17 20:16:04

Thanks for the new thread - I wondered how the old one had fallen so far down the page!

Age: 25 (DH 27)
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
CD: 21
DPO: 8

Missy you are probably right about symptom spotting, I'm keeping an eye on things but trying not to convince myself anything is pregnancy related. Kicking myself for not keeping a diary of my cycle from the beginning, thinking I will need to get an app to keep track of things!

Hope you're looking after yourself Kwick! I am definitely on it with the warm feet as I HATE being cold. Was just reading up on pineapple and see it may also be good for endometriosis so that's a bonus!

Alexia I'm trying to hold out til Sunday (13 DPO). Ella is my favourite girls name at the moment smile Evie was also on my list until SIL called her dog Evie!

Roseandbee Tue 31-Jan-17 20:21:25

I was just at the docs today about struggling ttc & she said 33 is still young. She said she wasn't overly concerned even though I've been a long time off birth control. So that's some good news

Baby names a girl rose a boy maybe Charlie, I'd consider Charlie for a girl too

Pyjamas81 Tue 31-Jan-17 20:26:55

Yaaaaaaaay shiny new thread ☺️☺️☺️

PJs - age 35 😱
Cycle 8
Testing on 11th if AF stays away on 10th

Nothing but AF and sparkling white FRERs so far. Bloods confirmed I'm ovulating, ultrasound said all normal, however I have low follicle count and AMH level for my age 😧. This is my first cycle after an HSG (came back all clear - although right tube a bit stubborn but clear in the end). Hoping I'm one of the lucky ones after an HSG, but not getting hopes up. Fuck it day already planned - early Valentine's big boozy dinner with DH 😁

MissyJones80s Tue 31-Jan-17 20:27:41

Howdy again

Ttc #1
Cycle 5
CD 2 (same as you snarky)
Age 34

AF is being a right mare this month just to rub it in. Spots, headache, cramps the lot oh and super duper tired boo hiss

MissyJones80s Tue 31-Jan-17 20:29:58

Oh and tits back to their usual teenynees meh! Lol
