Hurrah! It's the new thread!! Wonderful!

Right, so it's game on for Dream and Scream - who's going to get there first with their BFP??

Just popping in to mark my place and wave some pom poms in the general direction of Dream and Scream Grin

Phew! I found you! For a while I was wandering alone in the maze of the MN app (which is AWFUL) but here you are!

Hello Biscuits! good luck with your scan, that's so exciting!!

Many thanks to Farfalla for the new home. Can we have a tour?

Hello ratsmackers

Very tasteful decor Farfalla, I like it a lot.

Yes good luck with your scan Biscuits. Don't feel worried - you're brooking no argument whatsoever, remember?

JUST FERTILISE!! I love it. I had a bit of a word with my egg on Saturday. The conversation went a little like this:-
right eggy we have done all the hard work so if you could please let just one sperm in and implant that would be great. Thank you very much.
you are completely mental
Why don't you give your sperm a pep talk?
god we better get preggo this time cos I can't take anymore craziness

Haha luckily my DH thrives on craziness well he doesn't have much choice being married to me!

Oh and Farfalla how rude of me not to comment on the decor! Lovely colours - is it Dulux, Crown or Farrow and Ball?

I'm dying to see the full thread title but the MN app won't play ball! Would anyone mind telling me what it says after visualising?
Report
BabySade · 15/08/2011 18:16

...and brooking no arguement

Then it says 'JUST FERTILISE!'

DH says he will either nick (from work) or buy me a pg test. if i get a BFN it will be because you lot made me test for no other reason that a smidgion of brownish stuff on wiping ages ago....

should i not just wait a bit longer....?????

I like it! Good work Farfalla and Jen! Thanks BabySade!

Okay, so, any crazy symptoms out there ladies? I've decided to take zero symptoms as a symptom in its own right! clearly deluded and clutching at straws There's a clearly pregnant glow in here, emanating from you all! So what signs have you had?

Report
BabySade · 15/08/2011 18:23

Oops forgot to include the most important part JUST FERTILISE!! what cycle day are you dream sorry I can't keep up!

Report
ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 15/08/2011 18:26

It really does sound hopeful Dream and after all you're clearly already pg!

It's way too early for me to test tom (much MUCH more so than for you!) So let's just go for it together and if we get BFNs we'll be able to remind each other that it's still early and we'll get those pesky pee sticks in line later on in the week!

Report
scarletfingernail · 15/08/2011 18:34

dream I know you're going to get a BFP. Are you testing tonight?

DH will go barmy if I spend all night glued to my laptop. He's already said I should have a built in chip for MN.

But I don't care. I'm waving those pom poms and cheering for dream even if it means both of us going without any dinner Grin

Report
scarletfingernail · 15/08/2011 18:36

Scream how exciting. It's a numbers game. Pee on enough sticks and you will get that BFP Grin

It's another TWO hours before this train arrives, and I'm sitting opposite the most disagreeable man! Luckily DH is next to me so I'm not too worried about the annoying guy picking a fight, but the whole silent struggle for foot-space is just so frustrating!

Does anyone have any distracting stories to tell? The ante-natal thread (yup I've been prematurely lurking Blush ) had a whole load of super scary birth stories recently. Plus there's a thread on the "discussions of the day" which is all about how easy second births are compared to the UNMITIGATED HORROR of first births! These stories weren't particularly encouraging for a first-timer. Do any of you lovely sprogged up ladies have a GOOD first birth story? Or do you know anyone else who had a good first birth?

Report
ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 15/08/2011 19:05

(Apologies if this isn't really in keeping with the ttc purpose of this thread. I'm just hoping a few positive stories might help with the visualisations! Currently all my visualisations go up to 8 months pg, and suddenly skip forward to having a gorgeous mini person! Everything in between is definitely head-in-sand territory!)

Well I won't detail my first birth for you on here scream but I'll give you some keywords

3 days, Back to back position, episiotomy, forceps.

It took me a long time before I could even consider doing it again. But now, I'm desperate to do it again. It's amazing the amount of pain you can survive and then at some point afterwards your brain still tells you "I suppose it wasn't that bad really..." That's the magic of babies. I'm just clinging to the belief that it can't possibly be as bad second time around.

I do know someone who's first birth was over in 6 hours. Start to finish, they said it was a breeze.

scream Don't talk to me then!! I did not have a lovely birth. At all. I still think I recovered faster and was generally better off than if I'd had a c-section though, judging from my friends who've had both experiences and their stories. I can opt for one this time though due to my humougous tear Hmm However, I know several people who did have lovely births, for their first babies. I can share their stories?!

scarlet I don't want to waste money on pee sticks to get BFN's!!!! I do think I should hang on til Thurs. Or Fri if no AF. Its not like waiting a day or 2 will do anything other than confirm even further! Def not tonight, would wait for FMU. And i'm not banking on it yet... NO symptoms, bar what i'd expect with AF due in a couple of days.... and i don't dare let DH see me on MN at all tonight.

scream, maybe you could try the coughing a lot? looking as infectious as possible? or burping loudly and repeatedly? SURELY he'd move then or at least stop wrangling for foot space.

babysade, i'm cd 31, but last cycle was my first since DD born and was 34 days. And i'm worried i've stuffed it up by upping bf as opposed to being up the duff.... and not 100% sure i'm ov at all- apparently you can have several infertile cycles when you get AF back and i'm not banking on anything now....

lol scarlet, I was also 3 days, never went into labour after waters broke, induced, expected a failed induction so starved, nothing to drink throughout as unfavourable cervix etc etc etc etc for hours and hours and hours and HOURS. Then a third degree tear. Nice. I hope i will do it again.... the hypnotherapy stuff is good, i was so prepared for doing it my way and using the stuff but never got a chance stuck in hospital from the very beginning, attached to everything under the sun....

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 15/08/2011 19:32

Okay those are the kind of stories I'm trying to AVOID! But really, that sounds really tough for both of you, I'm glad you and your DC came through okay.

My cousin-in-law has a first birth story that's even worse than both of those stories (4 days labour, 8 days in hospital, induction, forceps, tear, csection, 10lb5 DS, massive hemorrhage, intensive care)

I'd love to hear the nice birth stories your friends had Dream! right now I don't know ANY. Thanks also for the 6 hour one Scarlet!

My ex colleague was in labour for the massive time of... 3 1/4 hours. No tearing, nothing. Jammy cow!

Sorry, I hope that didn't sound like I was glossing over your experiences, they do sound truly grueling! It's wonderful that you've been able to bounce back from that and still continue to expand your families. Luckily your odds of a smooth ride the second time round are much much higher!! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you (and no brooking of course!)

Jen that's an awesome story! Did you rub up against her for good-birth-cooties? No? It's just me then... Blush
