Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

Gardenpixie love the new thread title and introduction! It really made me chuckle.

Thank you everyone for your messages and waggle dancing! I will be able to post fuller proper posts when I get home to laptop as blackberry screen is so teeny tiny!

EC went really well this morning, no pain at the min just tired from the general anaesthetic and bloody hungry from lack of food!
Had a nice room to myself as being a Sunday it was empty and the dr and nurse team were lovely, even when I got out of bed and went to find out whether they had done the EC as I was a little disorientated!

We got 10 eggs and they all seemed very pleased as they were all the bigger sizes, feeling nervous about the next part and crossing fingers that they fertilise well (we are having ICSI). Expecting phonecall from the clinic at 9 ish tomorrow eeek!

Hope you are all having a fab Sunday!

Great news louise. We had 10 eggs as well so hopefully it will be our lucky number!

Well done Louise, we had 10 too! Grin at you wandering around after - that's always struck me as the craziest part of a general anaesthetic, it all goes by in a flash doesn't it and it's so hard to believe that it's all happened!

Louiseteacher30 · 31/07/2011 12:19

10 is definitely our lucky number!! I'm sending loads and loads of baby dust our way!

The GA was the most bizarre experience of my life, I now caan believe I actually thought the EC hadn't happened as I'd been in the operating theatre, legs on stirrups etc and then found myself in bed...did I actually think they had put me on operating table, legs strapped to stirrups just to give me the GA injection? Lol

My boss also text me today and surprised at what a long process it is, I think they are living this with me at work, the emotions, injections, the ups and downs. Just grateful we are coming home tomorrow for a couple of days breather.

Hope everyone is well, waggle dancing for everyone!

Hi there,
We are going to Care Nottingham on Monday for our first appointment. Nervous and trying to work out what to ask.
Anyone on here have immune tests- we've had the level 1 tests already.
What about preimplantation genetic screening/ array cgh? We lost a baby to trisomy 21 and have had a mc so I'm worried my eggs are a bit dodgy. My AMH is 29.5, FSH 3.9, I'm 34.
Good luck to all on here

Aw Luck, you're just the sweetest lady. I'm so pleased things appear to be progressing well with you and hope they carry on doing so. Hope you had a lovely time with your sis and her LO xx

Welcome blacktreaclecat (the more cats on here the merrier, IMO!), you've found yourself on a lovely thread.

I always think this website is a great starting point, it has questions to ask and lots of useful info. I'm at Guys where I know there's a preimplantation genetic screening section but I don't really know anything about this I'm afraid. I'm sure you can ask about this at your first appointment though. Good luck with everything Smile

Hi everyone,

Luck glad you feel less anxious, it was one of the easier parts of the IVF and I was surprised I couldn't remember anything.

The only thing I seem to have developed post EC is trapped wind! Apparently its caused by ovaries replacing eggs taken with water, I can hear then gurgling away!!
Someone recommended peppermint tea and I remember trying that when I was pregnant earlier this year (mc in Feb '11)

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been away for a few days, we were away for a long weekend in the middle of nowhere with no internet access. Couldn't even find a cafe with wifi! Its been a crazy few days....and actually it turns out its a BFP for me too! I did a pregnancy test on Thurs as Kool had been told to test 2 days later than me and there was a faint line so I called the hospital and went in for a blood test Fri morning which was positive! They waited all day to call and tell me so as you can imagine it was a long day! Got to back tomorrow morning for a follow up blood test to check the HCG levels are rising. But what an emotional rollercoaster this journey is!! Its obviously very early days and we're only telling out parents and best friends and not anyone else until after the first scan and really trying hard not to get too excited just in case.

Kool , my day later buddy, congratulations thats fantastic news, we can share our worries and aches and pains!

Owl great news about your 2 little frosties, but keeping everything crossed you won't need them! Just keep yourself busy these next few days, I know it does your head in, its like torture, but hand on in there and if you feel like screaming, we're here for you!

Luck 13 follicles s fantastic, sending loads of good vibes their way. EC really didn't hurt for me at all. In facts the whole experience was quite relaxing. Loved the anaesthetic! And then it was just a case of resting in bed for the rest of the day and a good excuse to do nothing! I didn't have any side effects and went back to work the next day, but I guess everyone reacts differently. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Welcome Louise , blacktreaclecat and SBarrett.

Louise great news about your 10 eggs and fingers crossed for some good news tomorrow.

If you don't mind all, I will lurk on here a while longer as I feel I've made some great friends and want to see how you're all doing. xxx

Wow caramel that's a turn up for the books! Fab news :) So were you and kool told to do your own tests at home to find out then? Don't you have a blood test at hospital to find out? Your story will put me off testing at home, as it obviously isn't reliable Grin Do stay around, we need your good luck vibes!

Hi owl I got my bfp 16 days after blasto transfer. The hospital told me to test 14 days after - which was when I got a negative. So the moral of the story is - don't test early even though every cell in your body will want to!

Thanks Danny, Owl, Luck and Louise, Ellan and Womanly for your lovely posts.

Luck thats greats news about EC this week, fingers crossed.

Garden thanks for starting this new post, don't know what I'd have done without you guys.
