Has anyone eaten their placenta?

Sorry if this has been done. I'm just curious. I suspect it costs a fortune to get it whatevered into pills - and I'd be considered mental by friends and family if I did - so probably out for me. Yet I'm intrigued...

I'm a MW, have attended a home birth where the woman fried her placenta afterwards with onions... she enjoyed it so much she even bagged up some of it for the freezer.....

I saw a woman take a small bit that was going to be made into some kind of homeopathic remedy for her. Not sure who by but knowing how homeopathy works there would be virtually no placenta by the time she took the dose. I think it was to make an emotionally supportive/balancing remedy.

I could probably make an essence out of it (like the bach flower essences/rescue remedy) though I am a student until I get the homework in. There wouldn't necessarily have to be any actual placenta in the mix as it could be done through glass. I could pm you with how to do it.

When you consider that herbivores such as cows and sheep eat their placentas (I state these two as I have witnessed it) it can be assumed that this is an entirely normal biological thing to do with benefits to the mother.

Unless you think cows are field house proud

I know someone who had placenta smoothies. Her husband refused to make them for her and she did it herself.
