Is anyone elses 2yo's hair not growing much?

DD is 2.5 and still has v short hair. All her friends have really long hair that has been cut loads but I have only cut a small bit at the back to try and thicken it up a bit.

Not too worried as I am sure it will grow at some point but just wondered how common it is?

hereditary I'm afraid. I know of a 4 yo who has baby fluff hair still. Do you or dh have very fine hair?

I did as a baby! Apparently I looked like an old man with a receeding hair line and crescent missing at the back for ages!

I've just spent nearly two hours curling my 16 year old DDs very long hair for tonight's prom and we were just laughing about the fact that she didn't need to have a haircut till she was about 6 because her hair was so short - it just didn't grow! She is making up for it now and has fabulous hair.

My dd2 still has baby fluff hair and she is 5! Annoys her that everyone else in her class has plaits, bunches etc and she has this halo of very fine curlies!

Apparantly I was the same!

Oh yes. My DD2 is 2.3 and although she has been to the hairdressers 3 times it was in an attempt to achieve some sort of style. She has wispy fine hair that doesn't reach her shoulders.

Her friends have all got lovely long hair. Her sister at this age had waist length hair and her brothers all had shoulder-length hair at 2.

I take some comfort from webwiz's story

dd (nearly 3 1/2) is like this. Her mates have lovely long hair in pony tails and plaits and she has basically a slightly long boys cut, becuase beyond her hairline her hair just grows whispy and foul. And her fringe has never been cut.

On the good side, we get lots of compliments on how elfin she looks.

Ds's hair started thickening up about 3 iirc. So she needs to get a bloody move on

DD1 (2.4) has virtually no hair compared to her friends, is nowhere near ever needing a hair cut (too short and too little of it). It makes her look much younger than her age (and also means everyone thinks she's a boy but hey, who cares!).

Her little sister (13 months) has slightly more hair and certainly longer hair than her but both DP and I have very fine hair so they have no hope of things improving soon. Bit sad when you see children the same age with beautiful long hair!

Glad dd is not the only one! Suppose ds1 didnt have very thick hair but you dont notice it as much with boys as I just kept it short.

DD3 is only 10 months but already has much thicker hair than dd2. In our family you either have very thin hair or very thick hair, nothing in between!

I wish..

Take a peek at my 2yrdd and her unruly mop hates having it brushed. Her 4 yr old sis has very fine hair, in fact recently I've wondered if it's getting less
