One week old: Eleanor or Georgina?

Hi all, James, Isabella and Charlotte’s little sister is here safe and sound. She is a dote, albeit a nameless one.

We are down to our final two names, no new suggestions please! We love both names and cannot decide.

So what do you think?
Eleanor Georgina
Or
Georgina Eleanor

Eleanor Georgina

Both combinations are nice. Do you have a preferred diminutive? Ellie or Georgie are the most obvious, I suppose.

Both names are falling in popularity, with Eleanor being used more often (top 50 as opposed to top 200 for Georgina).

I've just used a variant of Eleanor for my 17 day old DD so I'm slightly biased towards Eleanor Georgina. She has an Isabelle for a sister and James and Charlotte for cousins!

Thanks Mrs Fox and congrats zampa, we have similar tastes! What is swinging me is that I do love Georgie but I think Eleanor fits better with the other names.

I prefer Georgina it's lovely, love all the feminine George names Georgia, Georgina, Georgiana all beautiful classic names.
I do like Eleanor but as a middle name as not a fan of nn Ellie and Much prefer the spelling Elinor too.

I live in the US and here Eleanor is out.. It’s pronounced Elen-ORE instead of ELEN-a which would drive me mad I decided! Just a flag in case you or she would ever move over here.

Both names are lovely, but I would choose Eleanor.
Congratulations on the arrival of your gorgeous daughter!

I’d go towards Georgina for a first name. Simply because I know Four Ella’s, Ellie’s And Eleanor’s all of similar ages.

My names Georgina and I've always liked it, Im usually Georgie or George. Its also a bit more unusual and although I like Eleanor I'm not a fan of the Nan Ellie

Congratulations Flowers

I think she looks a little more like a Georgina to me, which I think still works very well with your other children's names.

Definitely Georgina Eleanor. Georgie is a far nicer shortened version - don't like Ellie at all & it's v popular. Georgina still goes well with your other names & they don't have to match anyway as they'll only really be said together lots while they're kids anyway. Congrats - she's a beauty.

Oh she is gorgeous!
I love Georgina (though as a huge Georgette Heyer fan, I think that's lovely too 😉)

My granddaughter is 12 next week; your picture has taken me back all those years, I would love a Cwtch with a newborn baby.

Georgina. For sure. DD2 was almost a Georgie. Much more original than Eleanor and still fits with your other children's names.
